Has anyone used the handheld scanners that roll across a page to scan? Any
recommendations for or against specific brands, or the whole idea?

Thanks,
Craig

Once you have switched an application into this mode, it no longer has edges to its window, since it no longer has a window at all, it fills the entire screen, and cannot be made smaller !

On my iMac in Mail.app, it is simple to fill the screen (just click on the little double arrows in the extreme upper right corner of the window.)

When the screen is full, move the cursor to the top of the window and the menu bar reappears. Then, click the blue double arrow at the extreme right end of the menu bar.

I understand that. However, semantics aside, the OP wanted to know how to maximize the window and still keep the menu bar. You cannot do it with full-screen mode, as you said, but you can do it as I said. Please note my wording of rather than full screen mode. I was not confused, as you seem to believe.

I want to import an audiobook into iTunes and burn a copy of it. What do I need to do to retain the tracks/formatting on the burned copy. My iTunes book doesn't make any reference to this.

What are you importing it from? If you already have it on disc, then you don't need to copy it.

If you do not own the disc, then you are violating the copyright.

I want to copy it from my disk to have a back-up. I want Rudy [a nursing home patient] to be able to listen to it without the possibility of my copy being lost. The story is about a Korean war battle that the patient participated in.

One method, would be to import it into iTunes, and then burn it from there. One disc at a time.
