That is because JavaScript is not Java. The two have nothing to with the other.
That is why I said it was clear as mud.

Do you have any recommendations on how I can get my Java to work?

Dan,
Can you point me to that precise page? Lasersoft forwards to Silverfast.com:
http://www.silverfast.com/show/download/en.html
and the only drivers I see are for SCSI.
Thanks,
Dave

Howdy.
LaserSoft is the company name. They make several kinds of imaging
software.
SilverFast is their brand name for scanner software.
Start here:
<http://www.silverfast.com/ >
You should see tabs for links to Canon, Epson, Microtek, Nikon, PTE,
Plustek, and Reflecta scanners.
Click the link for your brand of scanner and then find the Scanner
Selection popup and pick your scanner model to see if SilverFast is
available for that model.
Some companies ship SilverFast with their scanners as the main scanner
software.
SilverFast is a commercial company while the VueScan program began as
shareware.
Both VueSan and SilverFast are noted for providing support for "legacy"
and older scanners and even for some of the older SCSI connected
scanners than some of the OEMs.
In the overall scheme of things, VueScan probably began life as a film
scanner program than expanded to opaque images while SilverFast began
as a bit more oriented toward opaque image scanning.
Note that SilverFast comes in several flavors but they seem to have
somewhat confusing names and these names have changed.
SilverFast SE 8 is the basic flavor.
SilverFast SE Plus 8 is a more advanced flavor.
SilverFast Ai Studio 8 is the professional scanning flavor.

When using Preview as the scan application, I see I can choose the destination for scan files.
But when I change it, it defaults back to "Pictures" next time I open Preview.
Does anyone else see that the destination folder will not "stick" when you change it?
Thanks,
Dave
