After updating or adding a contact on my iMac, I would to see the new information instantly updated on the iCloud and my iPhone. How do I make that happen? Clicking the Sync button doesn't do it.
Thanks.

If both devices are using iCloud and you have selected on both devices to have your address book synced, then it should work as it does on all the computers, iPod, iPad and iPhone that I have.

John,
You said sync button, if you are syncing contacts by iTunes. You have to turn on syncing with iCloud. You should only have one sync method on at a time, otherwise you get duplicates from hell.
Turn off the syncing to iTunes first and then turn on syncing with iCloud.
I will get back shortly when I remember how. It has been so long I forgot how.

Basically you have to go into the settings on each device, and turn it on. Just remember if you sync by iTunes __and__ iCloud you will end up in duplicate hell.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296 should get you started.

Thank you - worked like a champ. I have no idea if I need Adobe Flash or not but
at least it's available and updated, etc.

Try each substitution in the sentence and use the one that make the most sense to the thread.
BTW. I believe the person who asked about the typo is a moderator, so I would guess he is a regular.

Unfortunately, a great number of people (and a lot of territory) out there are not located where hi-speed internet is available. Things such as terrain, sparse population and very old and unmaintained overhead phone lines (combined with no cell service) make the concept of doing all things from the cloud, more of a urban option than for most of rural areas.
Maybe this will change in a few years, but it's not there yet.

Clicking on pages opens the program and I could initiate a new document - all of this within safari. I could save in different formats and could send e mail directly from the site. I haven't been a fan of iCloud but guess I will have to investigate it - guess it is the future.

And that does not mean that it will be web or cloud only. It just means that it will have a cloud version.
There are lots of reasons why to keep the computer based version. For example, for work I am often in locations with no internet so cloud-base only apps are useless to me.
Bob, let us know what you think of the cloud version, and be sure to give Apple any good or bad feedback..

I also received an invitation today & will report as appropriate. I only had time to briefly open each module of the suite, but my initial impression is that Numbers is much faster versus my locally stored program.

Will do but since being retired I don't use these programs very much these days. I liked the ability to send document directly by e mail but later noticed one can do the same in the stand alone pages program.
The iCloud version seems to work nicely and conveniently.

That is fair.
It is funny that no one has mentions that Apple previously had iWorks on iCloud before, but only in beta, and they closed it about a year ago.

This is still beta.
I suppose that one can open email attachments with the cloud programs by dragging the attachment icon to desktop, open the relevant cloud program and drag the desktop icon into the opened program. Much less convenient.
