Howdy.
Here's another Thunderbolt external device.
This is interesting because of the small size and light weight. It's
billed by the maker as portable.
Thunderbolt Portable SSD Drive.
By Oyen Digital.
MiniPro Thunderbolt SSD Portable Solid State Drive.
Two Capacities.
120 GB $239.95 USD MSRP, or
256 GB $329.95 USD MSRP.
Small at 5.1 x 3.1 x 1.0 inches.
Only 1 TB port on the drive.
It would seem to be a competitive price for an external SSD in a case
with Thunderbolt port.

I just got a window pop up on Safari that says the FBI has locked my computer because of copyright or porno or illegal activity. They want me to go to Walmart and buy a MoneyPac, whatever that is, and pay someone some amount of money to unlock my computer.
Do any of you have any idea what this is all about. I don't think I was doing anything illegal on my MacBook, Safari 6.0.5, ML 10.8.4.
I shut down and restarted the computer, but the window came back upon restart.
I can't get rid of that FBI window, although I can still use Safari and open another window.
Thanks.

This is known as the moneypak virus -
try resetting safari and assuming it work you may want to run a an AV scan
to look for left overs.

Do you really think that a US government agency insists on being paid with Walmart money orders?

It is some sort of malware, but the type that generally Macs are immune to. If you are using 10.7 or 10.8 then set Safari so it does not reopen windows when it restarts and see if you will have then disposed of it.

You have visited a website that redirects you to a page that loads 150
iframes. You could close them one at a time, but it is much easier to just
shut down Safari and then relaunch while holding down the Shift key. This
prevents Safari from opening the same windows again from the last session.
No need for any AV software or scanning, there is nothing bad on your Mac.

Thanks, Bob. I tried the reset Safari thing that one of the other guys suggested, and that worked.

I bought a CS5 under the educational price. A sticker on the box says to follow the instructions enclosed to obtain a serial number for installation. However, either I misplaced those instructions or they weren't included. I found a page on the Adobe site to do that, but when I put in the product number and my email, I get a message that they don't match my registration. I'm very confused.
What to do?

You have not registered so it won't match.
Contact Adobe either by phone or by email to get the instructions to register.
