1. Call the north pole: This feature provides direct mobile contact to; Santa , Mrs Claus and Rudolph. You can hear their messages and leave one yourself. It will give the kids a jolt and have you walking the talk with the "I will call Santa" line used sometimes by carers when kids are being kids. With three different voice options to contact (Santa, Rudolph and Mrs Claus) the app can be used many times with maximum effect whilst creating the impression that North Pole is a very busy present making place. There is a call start and end function and pictures of the person you are calling. Remember to turn your sound up!

Los Gatos, California - Following up on the November launch of their first iPhone game, Pixel Classic, the developers at popGumbo have just released A Pixel Christmas 2012 for iPhone. And once again, users are invited to interact with with the game's hero in a way that's different from most games: head-on.
Pixel, the lovable star of both games, is a cheeky, funny, and sometimes even sulky, winged pixel whose arsenal of antics is sure to keep players entertained during, and even after game play.
A loss might result in Pixel momentarily playing dead or falling of the screen, but he always quickly recovers, to begin skating, winking, blowing kisses, or even dancing Gangnam style between levels. He's even been known to shed occasional tears of joy at a particularly good score.
But Pixel's larger than life personality isn't the only thing that sets these games apart from others, because, unlike most popular games, Pixel is never miniaturized, or viewed only in profile; instead, the charmingly-animated character is front-and-center for the duration of every game. And, while the gameplay itself is different from most titles, the face-to-face interaction is the first thing players are likely to notice as, according to lead developer Khris, it's often only seen in games of a violent nature.
"As first-time game developers, we wanted to make a game that was as appealing to as many people as possible. We had no interest in creating anything violent or negative, so our first objective was to create a game that was challenging and interesting for adults, while still being kid-friendly. We also knew we needed to do something really different... of course, everyone says that, but apparently, it's easier said than done.
"We're iPhone-obsessed, and we love the same games as everyone else. Angry Birds, Tiny Wings, Cut the Rope and Jetpack Joyride are brilliant games that, quite frankly, don't need to be redesigned or cloned by other developers. And, as typical, obsessive, iPhone users, we know that there's a real desire for games and apps that are different and exciting; we all want that great feeling you get you find another great reason to pick up your iPhone.
"With apps, that might be finding a cool solution to an everyday problem, or turning a typically mundane task into something engaging and fun - still a challenge for developers, but in a different way from games. People don't have to play games - they want to play them, and they want them to be fun - so, for the first time as developers, our mission was different. Along the way, Pixel and partner might encounter laser rings that stick Pixel's wings in place; fading rings that become transparent, leaving the player to guess at which color they are; and in most cases, the Pixel's console will inform you that you have to end on a certain color and number of rings in order to win the level.
A Pixel Christmas 2012 was created exclusively for the iOS, and contains 36 levels; 4 original holiday songs; 6 Christmas-flavored themes, and original artwork. In the coming weeks, popGumbo is planning to release "Pixel Classic HD" for iPad, as well as a Pixel-based game for children.

And once again, users are invited to interact with with the game's hero in a way that's different from most games: head-on.
Pixel, the lovable star of both games, is a cheeky, funny, and sometimes even sulky, winged pixel whose arsenal of antics is sure to keep players entertained during, and even after game play.
A loss might result in Pixel momentarily playing dead or falling of the screen, but he always quickly recovers, to begin skating, winking, blowing kisses, or even dancing Gangnam style between levels. He's even been known to shed occasional tears of joy at a particularly good score.
But Pixel's larger than life personality isn't the only thing that sets these games apart from others, because, unlike most popular games, Pixel is never miniaturized, or viewed only in profile; instead, the charmingly-animated character is front-and-center for the duration of every game. And, while the gameplay itself is different from most titles, the face-to-face interaction is the first thing players are likely to notice as, according to lead developer Khris, it's often only seen in games of a violent nature.
"As first-time game developers, we wanted to make a game that was as appealing to as many people as possible. We had no interest in creating anything violent or negative, so our first objective was to create a game that was challenging and interesting for adults, while still being kid-friendly. We also knew we needed to do something really different... of course, everyone says that, but apparently, it's easier said than done.
"We're iPhone-obsessed, and we love the same games as everyone else. Angry Birds, Tiny Wings, Cut the Rope and Jetpack Joyride are brilliant games that, quite frankly, don't need to be redesigned or cloned by other developers. And, as typical, obsessive, iPhone users, we know that there's a real desire for games and apps that are different and exciting; we all want that great feeling you get you find another great reason to pick up your iPhone.
"With apps, that might be finding a cool solution to an everyday problem, or turning a typically mundane task into something engaging and fun - still a challenge for developers, but in a different way from games. People don't have to play games - they want to play them, and they want them to be fun - so, for the first time as developers, our mission was different. Many have tried to fill the gap but the App Store is filled with half-hearted, quickly (badly?) coded, and often downright ugly alternatives. As its name implies, Wait, a Timer like no other 1.0, a freemium app, was just released to address the issue. Ease of use, gorgeous design and speed are at the heart of Wait, and it shows.
Wait, a Timer like no other offers multiple timers (limited to 2 in the free version and unlimited in Wait+ In App Purchase). It is extremely simple to set: you enter the overall duration (in Countdown mode) on the keypad or the end time (in Clock/Alarm mode), you press the run button and that's it really (there is even an auto-start mode so even the second step isn't necessary).
The idea here is to have a new timer up and running as quickly as possible, with the least amount of steps, because that's how usually things need to be when you need a timer.
Need to cook pastas for 10 minutes and their sauce for 5 minutes? Just set 2 timers on Countdown mode (and a 3rd one to remind you to start warming up the sauce 5 minutes after you started the pastas maybe?).
Want to avoid a parking ticket? Have Wait and its Clock mode reminding you to go back to your car by 2pm.
Need to do 3 sets of 1 minute push-ups with a 30 seconds interval between each set? The countdown mode has a repeat with interval functionality to help you do just that (available with the Wait In App Purchase).

New York, New York - TwoTea Applications is releasing an educational game for iPad and iPhone, What Doesn't Belong? Christmas Edition 1.0. The app is meant to help with essential intellectual and spiritual development of children. What Doesn't Belong? is a simple and fun educational brain teaser game for small and big kids based on beautiful handpicked images. The object of the game is to guess which of the six images does not belong & explain why it doesn't.
With the right approach of the parent or teacher the app becomes a great tool for speech therapy and helps develop many problem solving skills. The beautiful images (more than 800 for now), handpicked for each level, aim to develop sense of beauty.
"Each level of 70 was created with the idea in mind of how it can benefit the child", says Alex Stacanov, app designer from TwoTea Applications. "For example there is a level about Paralympics athletes, where the child learns about the idea of equal opportunities for all."
"All levels are positive and humorous ensuring a more enjoyable education process," - adds Alex. "To make the game outcome more effective", he says, "play it together with your children."
Changing place images make levels look like new every time you start a game. One other feature of this app, is the ability to add multiple players and have statistics for each.

Startup Launches Cutting Edge Photo App, Wrap Digital Images Like Cloth! - Published on 12/07/12

Using cutting edge algorithms the app is loaded with a plethora of features such as filters, color, light, frames to enhance and customize the photos. Kolkata, India - Computer Vision startup, Techbla has released a new photo editing app named Wrapcam 1.01. As the name implies, the app allows the user to wrap or roll digital photos just like one rolls paper or cloth. This allows images to take varied shapes which literally makes the photo look like pieces of cloth in color. In order for this to be done the team at TechBLA has developed a new algorithm which allows the user to access the pixels of the image directly and change them into whatever shape and form possible. In some cases even the structure of the photo can be changed as well, all of this just by the swipe of a finger.
The Developers have provided a rich set of tools such as filters, color, lights and frame effects to enhance the quality of the app. As per Pranav Agarwal (CEO & Founder) who has stated that they have created an app where everything has been redeveloped from grounds up.
In the words of the CEO, "The 21 filters given in the app are unique and many of the effects have been introduced for the first time in the market. The best part is the ability to create customized filter effects by combining one filter on top of an another which literally allows thousands of new customized combinations to be made."
As per company sources, this very philosophy has been used for development of all the features and particular attention has been given to make the app very easy to use. "You can just use one finger to create your photo art," commented Madhurima lead designer for the app.
The developers have provided a rich set of text, visual and video instructions which allows one to learn to use the app with ease. The app is available on the iPhone/iPod and is specially been optimized for iPhone 5/iPod 5.
The developers have reported that future upgrades are in testing and will be released shortly and an iPad and Android version are in development as well which will be out in the market very soon.
