Photo tab still exists in the same place - click on your iPhone when it is plugged into the MBP (on iTunes). The last tab when selecting your iPhone should be Photo. This is primarily to sync groups of pictures from iPhoto to the iPhone. Not sure it is the best way to sync an individual photo.

Consider no longer thinking about copying items to any device from your computer. I suggest you think about SYNCing groups of media, sync my movies, sync my books, sync my music, pictures, etc.

You will control what you sync through iTunes on your computer. Open the iTunes window and w your iPhone, etc. connected, look to the left side of the window under Devices. Click on "iPhone". Under each media type, look for the check box: Sync. You get to choose what you want to Sync from the computer to the iPhone.

Under the Photos section, indicate where your photos are kept. I keep mine in iPhoto. iPhoto divides photos up into Events. I choose which events to Sync w my iPhone. If you keep your photos in Folders on the computer, then point to specific folders to Sync.

I don't Sync ALL music, photos, movies, books, Apps. I check which to Sync. If you run out of storage space on your device (iPhone), consider reducing the size of the folders your images are kept in, or using multiple photo folders. I use multiple Events in iPhoto.

Apple did a very poor job of selling the new version of iTunes to it's users. The only real way to find out about iTunes is to download it and try it out. This would be ok, if they supplied a restore button to go back to the old version. Alas, no such button.

No need for Apple to do that, its your job. Just maintain your own backups, and if you don't like an update roll back to an older version of your backup. Either Time Machine, or something like SuperDuper! will do that for you.

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded my wireless setup. I bought a new AirPort Express
station (802.11n) to replace my older one (802.11g).

Apart from selling it or keeping it as a router I can bring elsewhere,
what uses could it be good for? The N router is easily handling the
Internet and AirPlay tasks it has to.

Connect it to a hi-fi system or powered speakers so you can stream music
around the house.

Just tried the assistive clicks. Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch. Still trying to figure it out but I had no idea it was there. Thanks!

Calendar has disappeared from my dock, and I don't see anything like
"calendar" in Applications.

What should I do? My whole life was organized there. Oops.

Have you tried a Spotlight search for "Calendar"?

Have you considered restoring it from one of your backups?

Boy, do I feel silly. A more thorough search, after the panic, found
iCalendar in Applications. I was looking at the "C" apps.

In current and most recent versions of the MacOS, the name of the program is "Calendar".

In older versions, it is "iCal".

I've got a pretty old Brother HL-5170DN network laser printer that's stood me in good stead for a few years. It was first introduced in about 2005 (as best Google can tell me).

I just downloaded an updated driver from the Brother support web site dated November 2012 for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

The Brother web site also shows drivers for this printer for OS 8 & 9 as well as all versions of Mac OS X (10.1-10.8).

It's been discussed on this list as well as in other user groups how frustrating it is to update your operating system only to discover that the manufacturer of your printer or scanner or other peripheral has decided to not update the driver for it. The only option is to buy a new peripheral.

Releasing an updated driver for a 7-year-old printer and a 3-year-old version of Mac OS X. I'm impressed.

I don't know how the competition stacks up to Brother when it comes to updating drivers, but this might be a benchmark against which you can compare other manufacturers when shopping for a new printer...

FYI,
Dave
