The new Silver Dolphin Books' apps are being developed by Appy Award-winning producer and developer John Sansevere (Little Critter: Where's My Frog) and are scheduled for release in 2013, debuting on both the IOS and Android platforms.

Silver Dolphin Books will be developing new apps for brands including:

Little Critter: Appealing to four to seven-year-old children, author and illustrator Mercer Mayer's Little Critter stories are rooted in the practical. First published in 1975, over 150 million copies of Little Critter books have been sold to date. Kids identify with Little Critter's first-person narration of his thoughts, feelings, ideas and inspirations, as he navigates the challenges of childhood. Emphasizing the humor of striving to understand the grown-up world, Little Critter instills the solid values of love, compassion, empathy, caring and sharing through situations involving the family dynamic. In the new app, Little Critter: The Trip, slated to launch in January 2013, users will engage with games and activities appropriate for a basic pre-school and early elementary curriculum, including identifying numbers, shapes, colors, patterns, letters and simple words, as well as telling time and solving simple equations.

Richard Scarry's Busytown: First published in 1975, Richard Scarry's Busytown books have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, making them a trusted favorite with kids' aged four-years-old and up. The books help kids to develop new ideas and ways of looking at the world, imparting new skills and creating new approaches to common dilemmas. Like the books, the first Richard Scarry's Busytown's Busy Kids app, slated for launch in spring 2013, will celebrate the joie de vivre of everyday life in a world which, although the adults are present, leaves the kids free to navigate their experiences in their own Busytown-style, ensuring lots of fun. Users will help characters figure out and solve problems. Stories are told by the omniscient and reassuring third-person narrative voice that generations of Scarry fans have come to know and love and ultimately rely on to carry the characters through all of their experiences with compassion and humor.

Astro B-1: "It takes all types to make the world go around" is the essence of the Astro B-1's, the whimsical inhabitants of the tiny star Asteroid B-1, just to the left of the North Star and below the Big Dipper. As you can imagine, such a tiny star requires its residents to live in harmony! And yet for a tiny star, there are many groups who live there who must learn how to "Be One" with all of the others! There's the Shhhs! and the Blah-Blahs!; the Yummys! and the Yucks!; the Hmmms! and the Ooops! and the Pee-Yews! and the Ooo-la-las! Their opposing traits determine their personalities and when groups collide, conflict occurs, presenting them with the predicament we all face no matter our age: how do we learn to get along? Conceptualized and developed by the imaginative mind of award-winning producer and developer John Sansevere (Little Critter: Where Is My Frog?), the premise of the Astro B-1's echoes that of many preschool and elementary school curriculums - to promote respect

The CPUG Network has announced the Twelfth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet to take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2012 at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, CA. Doors open at 4:30PM and presentations begin at 7PM. The San Francisco SuperMeet promises to be the single largest gathering of Final Cut, Adobe, Avid and Autodesk editors, gurus and digital filmmakers in the Bay Area for all of 2013.

Los Angeles, CA / Boston, MA - The CPUG Network has announced the Twelfth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet which will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, CA. Doors open at 4:30PM with the "SuperMeet Digital Showcase," featuring over 20 software and hardware developers. Presentations will begin at 7:00PM and continue until 11:00PM. Tickets are on sale online for the Early Bird price of $10.00 each plus ticket fee (Early Bird price ends Dec. 28, 2012) and $10.00 for students with valid student ID.

The San Francisco SuperMeet kicks off a year-long celebration of SuperMeets and promises to be the single largest gathering of Final Cut, Adobe, Avid and Autodesk editors, gurus and digital filmmakers in the Bay Area for all of 2013. It is expected this SuperMeet will sell out as historically every SuperMeet sells out.

The SuperMeet agenda has not been announced and will not for a few more weeks, but will feature user driven presentations from the likes of Blackmagic Design and Adobe, Show and tells from local Bay Area filmmakers, a featured industry guest in the second half and much more.

Rounding out the evening will be the always wild and crazy "World Famous Raffle" where tens of thousands worth of valuable prizes will be handed out to dozens of lucky winners.

Doors to the SuperMeet will open at 4:30PM with the "SuperMeet Digital Showcase," featuring over 20 software and hardware developers including Adobe, Avid, Blackmagic Design, Atomos, Drobo, HDDISK, Keycode Media, Lite Panels, mLogic, Peachpit, Pixelflow, RE:Vision Effects and many others. Users will find it easy to become reporters and share their local news with the compose button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Here they can tap to compose their newscast, adding a title if they wish and a description. They can then choose pictures from their library or take new photos that will be displayed on the news feed. In the latest version of hoodcast, up to five photos can be attributed to each new cast.

By tapping the location button, users can also specify their exact location to add to the newscasting experience. The app uses the device's advanced location technology to pinpoint the caster's location and add it to the post. When viewed on the home screen, each cast displays the location near the bottom of the post.

From the app's home screen, users can view all the casts of their fellow reporters across the globe. The beautiful view shows large, clear moving pictures for each story. Over each colorful story, the title is written and the caster's name and profile picture can be seen.

Users can customize their own newsfeed through a sliding bar at the bottom of the screen. They slide their finger to the left for more local news; all the way to the left will pinpoint news events exactly in the user's location. All the way to the right will show users all events in the world, and in between they can view news that is countywide, statewide, nationwide, or global.

With one tap, members can view the page of a particularly interesting story. Here they can view an enlarged version of the picture along with a concise, effective description of the event, location, and the caster's name and profile information. The app offers space for users to comment on events, allowing for intelligent, quick, and easy discourse on local as well as national news.

If users come across events that they have been to or are certain have occurred, they can tap the Witness button on the story's page. This increases the caster's credibility, and users can also view how many witnesses a story or caster has to easily determine the most reliable news sources. Users can also favorite news stories for easy access later. These favorited stories will appear on the user's personal profile.

hoodcast lends large space to high-quality photos with concise descriptions, creating an appealing and engaging layout that makes users eager to search for news stories and publish their own. The social app lets users stay connected locally as well as on a national level, now with automatic Facebook sharing capabilities.

The process is the same, but video processing offers more controls and options. Opening a video in the app, it fills 75% of the screen, with 8 function buttons in the lower control bar, and 4 or fewer slide controls below. Button 1 returns to the opening dialog and allows the selection of another video, and button 8 renders the video for export in its original size (e.g., 1920x1080), Big (540p) or Medium (360p).

Button 2 is Video characteristics and offers independent, slider controls for color saturation, picture contrast, picture brightness, and a vignette effect that creates an elliptical mask over the image, whose transparency can be set between 100 and 0% (black).
