Designed especially for fans of Major League Baseball, Ballpark Weather provides comprehensive weather conditions and forecasts for all MLB stadiums and all 30 teams. The app incorporates complete MLB schedules, which can viewed in a scrolling list by touching one of four buttons: Today (view all MLB games scheduled for today in order of start time); Tomorrow (view all MLB games scheduled for tomorrow in order of start time); Day 3 (view all MLB games scheduled for the day after tomorrow in order of start time); and My Team (view the schedule of the next seven games for any team or the user's default team selection). Four filter tabs are also provided, which filter results of each of the four buttons: All, Chance of Rain, Wind Blowing Out, and Wind Blowing In.
Based on one of the most advanced iOS weather engines, Ballpark Weather produces highly reliable results. Because rain information is based on existing areas of precipitation moving toward the user's location, rain chances are high - only calculation of its arrival time may be subject to minor inaccuracies. The app produces specific times up to three hours in advance, more than enough time for fans, umps, and players. If it is currently raining, the app provides an accurate estimate of the time it will stop. Only games in the Today list of games include comprehensive rain information as analyzed by the RainAware system.

In addition to unforgettable undead characters, Zoombies: Animales de la Muerte! includes novel gameplay that allows players to demolish beastly zombies by tracing a line for their weapon to follow before it boomerangs back.
Hoffman Estates, Illinois - High Voltage Software, creators of hit mobile titles Conduit HD and Le Vamp, are celebrating Cinco de Mayo with the release of an action-filled and muy humoroso title for iPhone and iPad starring adorable Mexican zoo "animales"; and a healthy dose of blood and gore. In addition to unforgettable undead characters, Zoombies: Animales de la Muerte! includes novel gameplay that allows players to demolish beastly zombies by tracing a line for their weapon to follow before it boomerangs back.
"The game mechanics are deceptively simple to learn and very challenging to master, but it's the wild characters that make Zoombies drop-dead funny and fun to play," says Eric Nofsinger, High Voltage Software's Chief Creative Officer. "Don Eduardo, the zookeeper, constantly encourages our heroes and arms them with ridiculous items, like a kid who can be shot from a circus cannon, while each of the seven species of Zoombies has its own dangerous design."
The game's humor, effortlessly mixing cartoony and gruesome elements, is on display through multiple weapons, upgrades, costumes, and characters. More importantly, notes the Zoombies development team, the game provides an answer to the age-old question: what will happen if the zombie apocalypse begins in a Mexican zoo?
Armed with Aztec hatchets, roman candles, and even a trained chupacabra, players take control of either Marco or Maria, two rowdy school kids unusually skilled in the mortal arts, to rescue the remaining animals from the zoo before their brains are eaten by the Zoombies. Each of the 45 levels requires timing, strategy and precision to complete 225 Sugar Skull Missions, while collecting golden pesos to earn "Especiales" upgrades, weapons, and outfits.

The app does so by reading the friend's Facebook Timeline for birthday wishes made by other people to pinpoint the birth date. Accuracy is assured by an intelligent algorithm, which compares the birth date across multiple years and only selecting the date with the highest number of wishes. Users will see a message like this: "127 people wished John on February 18, since 2009".
Among other features are local notifications which remind users on their friends' birthday. Users are given the flexibility to turn on or off reminders for individual contacts, customize the notification time, and even set early reminder to give them time to buy gifts. The app also displays the number of birthdays today on the icon. Ringtone Fails highlights abuse and misuse of ringtones - Published on 05/02/13

It happens to everyone but not always on live television! Junior announcer and former NBA great Shaquille O'neal left his cellphone on during a live TV broadcast and sure enough his annoying ringtone went off and took the whole show down with it. Shaq tossed his phone across the studio, where it landed with a thud and a crack, reminiscent of his bricklaying free throws when he played in the NBA. All of this could have been avoided through use of the Silent mode or a more professional ringtone.
Rochester, New York - Say it ain't so, Shaq? Even the big man makes mistakes, as his annoying ringtone went off during a live broadcast on TNT's coverage of an NBA game! It was a costly mistake, as Shaq threw the phone across the studio, reminiscent of the 'brick' free throw shots he was known for. And now, that phone is as useful as a brick... all because of a ringtone.
The lesson here is, when you're "on stage" or in a job interview, on a date, etc., put that phone on silent, or have a professional sounding ringtone for goodness sake! Your phone will thank you for it!

The user interface of the App couldn't be simpler. Upon launch, the user is presented with a full screen map of their location. Non-Cayman locations will be prompted to zoom directly to the map of the Cayman Islands. With over 330 dive sites automatically plotted on the map, the user can zoom, scroll, and tap on a dive site to be presented with the dive site name and its rating. Tapping on the icon will open a detailed information screen chock full of everything you need to know about that site, even the distance from the user. From here you can rate, add personal notes, and mark the site as did dive, plan to dive, or did not dive. This feature creates a Dive Log ("bucket list") so you can remember which sites you want to dive at a later time. A comprehensive list of dive sites, sorted by name, distance, snorkeling, and the previously mentioned Dive Log, is included that quickly showcases the name, location, distance, and rating.
The beautiful Fish Identification feature of the App highlights over 120 fish, creatures, and corals that are found in the Cayman Islands. Scroll through the list, each with thumbnail images, and tap on an item to reveal a detailed screen of information. From there you can mark the fish, creature, or coral as seen at any of the dive site locations which will create a personal Fish Id log. And what would a dive App be without up to the minute weather conditions and five day forecasts. All this and much more.

Google Maps On iPad Has Mileage With Latest EggMaps Update - Published on 05/02/13

Unlike the iPhone version of Google Maps, EggMaps HD takes advantage of the larger iPad screen at native resolution. EggMaps HD is faster and more responsive than a website. Version 1.05 adds a choice of miles or kilometres when directions are provided, in response to requests from UK customers and Americans traveling abroad.
Perth, Australia - Indie Developer Mike Cunneen today is proud to announce the release of EggMaps HD 1.05, his iPad app that provides an easy interface to Google Maps at full resolution. Until EggMaps HD, iPad users had resorted to using the website or iPhone versions of Google Maps (the latter at low-resolution, sometimes known as "pixel doubling" or "2x").
"An iPad has five times the display resolution of an iPhone. When you run an iPhone-only app on your iPad, such as the official Google Maps app, the picture is blocky, lacks detail, and does not quite fill the available screen area. Apps that are designed specifically for iPad look much better," said Mike Cunneen, the developer.
Regarding the latest update, Mr Cunneen explained, "I've been inundated with requests from UK customers and Americans traveling overseas. They want to view distances in miles rather than kilometres. Until now, there was no way to override the units of distance. Now, you can choose whichever system you are comfortable with."
"EggMaps has been ranked #1 in 25 countries including the UK, Australia and Canada. I really hope the latest release will put it back at the top of the UK App Store rankings."
"To be honest, it's mainly UK customers who are affected by this release," Mr Cunneen continued. "Apart from UK customers, only a few Americans have requested miles when they are traveling outside the USA. The rest of the world uses kilometres, so this feature won't make much difference to them. But they will appreciate the bug fixes in this release."
"Today I received an email from a customer thanking me for the fast turnaround time on fixing a bug he'd reported a few hours earlier. I didn't want to tell him that I submitted the fix 6 days ago due to another customer's report. If this guy thinks I'm some sort of genius, why should I set him straight?" The bug in question prevented addresses from being displayed upon tapping a marker, and is fixed in this latest release.
Unlike the iPhone version of Google Maps, EggMaps HD takes advantage of the larger iPad screen at native resolution. Being a native app, EggMaps HD also has the advantage of being faster and more responsive than a website.
"Google's maps app for iPhone is great. But they seem to have forgotten about iPad users," said Mr Cunneen. "Installing Google's official iPhone app is awkward for most people. Even if you manage to get it onto your iPad, it runs at iPhone resolution and doesn't provide much visual detail."
