App Promo Releases Second Annual App Developer Survey Infographic - Published on 06/04/13
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
App Promo Releases Second Annual App Developer Survey Findings in Infographic "The Little App Developer That Could." The Survey finds that 81% of developers would not abandon their app despite the same amount not making enough money to support a stand-alone business with their app. The goal of this survey was to shed light on the truth behind mobile app success in an attempt to educate and equip the app developer community with information they can use to better their app as a business.
Toronto, Canada - App Promo, a leading app marketing and strategy firm, has published the results from their Second Annual App Developer Survey that took place between this April/May 2013. The most noteworthy finding from the survey showed the tenacity of app developers today. 81% of app developers stated they would not abandon their app despite the same amount indicating that their app is currently not earning enough money to support a standalone business.
The optimism that the majority of the developers showed in this year's survey may see significant return as the survey also found that those developers that are sticking it out (3 years ) are coming out on top as top earners with total revenues over $500,000 since launch - most of their success stemming from monthly marketing budgets of at least $1,000.
The survey also found that 29% of developers said that they didn't market their app. For those that did market their app 12% said their campaigns were only 1 week while another 12% indicated that their marketing efforts were ongoing. Nearly one-third of developers are not using social networks to market their app. For those that are using these networks - Facebook and Twitter reign supreme. Pinterest and Tumblr are untapped networks for marketing of apps at this time.
"Our second annual survey confirmed what we have seen in the three years of working with developers on the business of mobile applications- slow and steady wins the race" says App Promo CEO and Founder, Gary Yentin. "Our survey echoed exactly what we have been finding in the market, app developers that are committed to making their app successful are seeing success. But this success is tied to taking the initiative to improve app discovery through on going marketing - with those that had an effective marketing budget set aside seeing the most traction with their app."
The goal of this survey was to shed light on the truth behind mobile app success in an attempt to educate and equip the app developer community with information they can use to better their app as a business. App Promo's CEO, Gary Yentin, will be formally presenting the survey results at the Inside Social Apps Conference June 6-7, 2013 in San Francisco.
A summary of the results are readily available now for review and republish as an Infographic entitled "The Little App Developer That Could" which can be found on the App Promo blog and a complete white paper covering all the data can be downloaded for free on the App Promo website.
App Promo conducted their 2nd Annual Developer Survey from April 15 through to May 5, 2013 and collected over 365 responses from qualified app developer participants. App Promo encourages blogs and media to republish the infographic to help spread word on this very important topic for app developers. A copy of the infographic can be found on the App-Promo website.

Assault Wave is a real time World War II themed tactical action game. The game has single player campaigns and battles initially for USA and Germany, and both online and on same device multiplayer modes. An iPad version will be released during the summer of 2013, and an iPhone version will be released later on.
Chess with Machineguns! Assault Wave is a deceptively simple game to learn, as you just drag & drop your chosen Units to the battlefield and issue Commands to alter the tactical situation, yet the game offers a multitude of tactical choices during the game play. The game play and controls have been specifically designed for touch screen devices like iPad.

"When I first saw Assault Wave, I quickly realized that it is a really unique game idea. A deceptively simple game, but with layers of tactics and strategy to master. It's fast paced and challenging, and the unique same-device mode - literally head-to-head play - as well as multiplayer via GameCenter, are explosively fun!"
Miikka Lyytikainen, CEO/Aniway:
"We have great respect for Battlefront, as we've had the pleasure of working with them in the past on the Combat Mission series. This is an excellent opportunity for us to reach the great and active community that Battlefront has."

Tayasui Sketches Empowers Everyone To Become Artists - Published on 06/04/13
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New app Tayasui Sketches 1.2, from Paris-based development firm Tayasui, features an elegantly beautiful Zen-like UI and stunningly realistic brushes, where the pressure, angle, width and responsiveness of each stroke changes depending on the speed and angle of the line drawn. Great tools make great drawings and, inspired by the vision behind the globally-acclaimed kids drawing app Drawing with Carl, Tayasui Sketches is a powerful app anyone can use.
Cupertino, California - Everyone aspiring to become an illustrator or artist can now be empowered to take their creations to a whole new level - and fill their world with fun - by downloading the new iPad app Tayasui Sketches 1.2, from Paris-based development firm Tayasui.
"We started with the same idea we had for Drawing with Carl, which gives kids great tools, color and patterns to create amazing drawings," commented Tayasui's Yann le Coroller, a renowned Creative Director and Animator whose Talking Carl app was featured at an exhibit last year at New York City's MoMA. "Now with Tayasui Sketches, we've brought the same enjoyment and magic to the world of adults, in order to help them become more creative, more productive and have more fun. And to make sure we could empower as many people as possible, we decided to offer Tayasui Sketches at no cost!"
Tayasui Sketches sought feedback from professional illustrators and spent countless hours crafting the app's vividly realistic brushes, where the opacity, angle, width and responsiveness of each stroke changes depending on the speed and angle of the line drawn. It's a level of lifelike brush precision that is unprecedented in the app world.
In addition, Tayasui Sketches' interface is Zen-like and elegantly beautiful. There are no buttons and the tools hide completely, so that there are no visual distractions and users can become submerged in their creativity and focus completely on the canvas. Plus, the precision-crafted 3D rendered icons are works or art in themselves, and a delight to behold.
Additionally, the app is sensibly functional, and makes it quick and easy for anyone to create new sketches, or clone existing sketches to explore new variations and possibilities. Users can also share their drawings with friends in a matter of seconds, complete with artistic envelopes, stamps and joyfully singing birds.
"We wanted to offer an environment that made people want to draw, because everything is so beautiful: the icon of the tools, the quality of the strokes, and the responsiveness of the app," noted Yann le Coroller. "We wanted to offer a very Zen-like space where people could focus on creating."
In addition, Tayasui Sketches is surprisingly versatile and suits a variety of needs - from quick architectural roughs, to cartoon illustration, to watercolor painting and more. It's also ideal for taking quick notes, making diagrams and other technical drawings.
"We believe that beautiful tools make beautiful drawings," further added Yann le Coroller. "And whether someone is an experienced professional illustrator or just beginning their creative adventure in the illustration field, we think that they'll find Tayasui Sketches to be something they've never experienced before!"
Tayasui Sketches, the new no-cost app that empowers illustrators of all skill levels with astonishingly realistic brushes and functional tools, and immerses them in a beautiful Zen-like UI, is available now in the App Store.

The company believes in emphasizing function over form, and focuses on beauty, grace and simplicity instead of superficial effects and needless extras. Award-Winning Artgig Apps Releases Mystery Math Town For iPhone - Published on 06/05/13
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Following the success of Mystery Math Town for iPad, Artgig Apps today announces the release of Mystery Math Town for iPhone. Designed specifically for iPhone and iPod touch, Mystery Math Town for iPhone joins the iPad version in the award-winning family of Artgig Apps, including Marble Math, Alien Buddies and Shake-a-Phrase. Pleasantville, New York - Following the success of Mystery Math Town for iPad, Artgig Apps today announces the release of Mystery Math Town for iPhone. Designed specifically for iPhone and iPod touch, Mystery Math Town for iPhone joins the iPad version in the award-winning family of Artgig Apps, including Marble Math, Alien Buddies and Shake-a-Phrase.
The object of the game, for kids ages 6 and up, is to help a friendly and curious little ghost rescue the fireflies that are hidden in Mystery Math Town. Along the way, players must use math skills to build equations and unlock rooms and passages. As a bonus, children can earn talking portraits for their gallery, revealing the stories of the colorful townspeople and the town itself. The game is available for download on the App Store at an introductory price of $1.99 USD.
Common Sense Media, the national nonprofit dedicated to helping parents and teachers manage the media and technology in kids' lives, says "listening to a kid playing Mystery Math Town, parents might not realize right away their kid is working on math - with the guffaws over the witty, sometimes snarky, talking portraits. But interspersed with the laughter, parents may pick up on the sounds of a kid being challenged by the progressively harder math problems as they have to search through the town's houses to find the numbers they need to create and solve problems. The mysterious setting, funny townspeople, and discoveries throughout the houses keep kids engaged, and the math keeps them challenged."
Artgig President Matthew Kicinski says, "We initially made the game exclusively for iPads and we immediately heard from some pretty vocal iPhone users who wanted to play but couldn't." He adds, "We redesigned the UI to make better use of the phone screen real estate and we're really excited to offer Mystery Math Town to everyone with an iPhone today. It's the perfect game to keep your kids practicing math over the summer."
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* Requires iOS 4.3 or later
* 103 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Mystery Math Town for iPhone 1.0.1 is $1.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Education category.

Artgig President Matthew Kicinski says, "We initially made the game exclusively for iPads and we immediately heard from some pretty vocal iPhone users who wanted to play but couldn't.
