Concept vid makes the case for a 1080p 5.7-inch iPhone Posted: 21 Jun 2013 01:32 PM PDT While Tim Cook patiently keeps on insisting that Apple isn’t interested in making an iPhablet, that’s not stopping analysts, media, watchers, bloggers – and even Apple’s supply chain partners – from speculating. The latest example: just last week, Reuters ran a report claiming Apple is considering launching 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone models in six different colors next year. The 5.7-inch form factor didn’t come out of blue: presumably, it’s the right size for a 1080p Apple phablet. Figuring as much, UK’s T3 magazine has put together an interesting concept video making a good case for a 1080p iPhone…(...) The Finnish handset maker released a new ad this morning that portrays iPhone users as mindless zombies. Full clip after the fold…(...) Results of the investigation could be used as part of a possible antitrust lawsuit. FTC chairwoman Edith Ramirez has said the technology involved in one smartphone could spur thousands of patents. Tokyo court finds Samsung guilty of infringing on Apple’s ‘rubber banding’ patent Posted: 21 Jun 2013 02:57 AM PDT On Friday, a Tokyo court found a number of Samsung’s legacy smartphone models to be guilty of infringing on one of Apple’s patents. More specifically, it’s the infamous ‘rubber banding’ patent, which Apple has used in a number of courtroom battles. For those unfamiliar with the ‘rubber banding’ property, it covers the software action that triggers the bounce-back animation when a user reaches the end of a scrolling document.
