Hi Pat,
Thanks! I tried that and got this message:
The web interface is currently disabled. Run "cupsctl WebInterface=yes" to enable it.
I'm totally unfamiliar with this! Does this make sense to you? Thank you for helping me!

Open the Terminal application, and run the command it suggests, i.e.
cupsctl WebInterface=yes
then try again, it should then work.

I don't understand that at all!
Am I supposed to open the printer properties?
I'm close to just saying forget it with trying to change the default!
Thank you!

Hi Jennifer,
I'm finally back at my computer so I can hopefully give you step by step instructions.
1.) Go to File Print.
2.) Change Settings to how you want it to be handled for Work Printer. - ie. Single Sided, color, orientation, etc
3.) Click on Preset drop down - it should be on default or last used
4.) On drop down go to Save Current Settings as Preset ....
5.) It will give you an option to Name Preset and make it apply to just that printer or all printers
6.) Name Preset something like Single Sided or Office Printer
7.) Check that it applies only to that printer.
Now when you have that preset selected for the Office Printer it should print the way you want without changing it every time.

The MD recorders were very nice machines (I still have an MZ-R90), but I
have to ask: why record to MD when you can record to the iPod?

"why record to MD when you can record to the iPod?"
I've always enjoyed editing audio on mini-disc.
I've been away from the format for years and was
recently given a MD portable recorder and
about 100 blank discs. As opposed to recording
on my iPod, the minidisc recorder is a little bit
more quirky and fun. I have a standalone
recorder, too - which edits tracks easily.
The problem with minidisc technology is
most of the tips and information about it
are close to ten years old. The format has been
practically dead since around 2004 or so.
The MD craze was bigger in the UK and Europe
and hardly made a dent in the music market here.
For a couple of years it was even seen as a competitor
with early mp3 players and in fact can play mp3s in some cases
I think I've decided to purchase a basic Mac-compat iRig guitar adapter
(microphone into iRig and then out to minidisc recorder)
It looks like it will solve my output problems. And if need be,
I can record multi-track to the iPod

I have had two MD recorders and LOVED them - I'm a collaborative pianist and would record everything I rehearsed. But I had the little "Walkman" version, and they don't hold up well. I have two or three dead ones in a drawer that I would love to be able to get fixed and continue to use, but I doubt anyone works on them.

Are you using a jack, wired head set or BT?
If BT, then you have to get the proper type of BT head set to work with stereo.
Try the search term, stereo bluetooth.

Ah the cord was broken on the headphones.
BT was working fine just these corded headphones were not. Not the Mac's fault.

I read the archives and found OmniDisk sweeper which is good but not
as pretty as the Windows space reclainer utilities.
Thsi leads to 2 follow up questions:
1. Is there a prettier more graphic one?
2. Most of wy wasted space is a BootCamp partition that is TOO BIG. Is
there an easy way to size it down and give bakc spack to Mac OSX all
the solutions I saw are very Unixy and command liney and scary and
not friendly at all. I do not mind spending some money for something
taht makes resizing bootcamp partitions easy and backing them up easy.
Any suggestions?

I recently got a new MacBook Air & used Migration Assistant to transfer all of my info, but I'm not using Boot Camp. Here's an Apple support article about it:

Thanks I am hoping to just keep my MacBook and get my existing drive
including Bootcamp backed up by a professional and a twice or 4 x as large
drive put in and my contents restored to it.
Being new to Mac world I have no idea what 3rd party companies do it or if
the Apple store would so I was looking for someone that knows vendors will
do it. Do not want to do myself.
