Hello group,
I recently realized that our iPhone and my wife's iPad calendars are deleting past events. It looks like anything older than a couple of months. My google inquiries have turned up a lot of questions about this but no viable answers. Maybe I just haven't hit on the best links.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it? I don't see a specific setting in the the calendars option under settings.

Thanks for the help. Hope you get some rest!
As far as I can recall, I have never used the iCloud website directly. When I go to that address, I get options for setting up iCloud on "this device". Don't see an option to log in.
Also - I'm talking about my iPhone now, don't have my wife's equipment at hand - I've always had iCloud turned off for everything except Photo Stream. I've never needed it for any of the other options.
So, my calendar isn't likely to be available in iCloud.com, right? Wouldn't it have to be a setting on the phone that's causing the events to roll off?

Yes. Proceed to step 2 and look at the sync options for your Calendar. If you're using the same events database on all of your devices, it's sync from/to/through somewhere.
Take a look at: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Accounts. There you will see each account your device syncs and what data (mail, notes, calendars, etc.) each account is using. You should be able to look there to find who/where your Calendar is hosted.

There are 3 accounts: iCloud, yahoo and Comcast. Comcast is the default. iCloud and yahoo both have a calendar option but it's turned off on both accounts. Comcast doesn't seem to have those types of options.
So I don't see that the calendar is being synced anywhere. Maybe I should try turning on the iCloud sync option?

Yes, I would give that a try. If you are actively syncing your devices to your computer, there is a possibility that your calendar might be hosted there. It's my opinion, that iCloud is a more robust solution if you are syncing more that one device.
If you do decide to switch on iCloud, I would advise you to only use it for Calendar, Contact, Mail syncing and not for backup until you can get a handle on how much space you may need.
