"dupGuru" works great at listing duplicates. Provides check boxes for choosing which files to trash and which to keep in one window. It seems to be intuitive, so that same content may have a different file name.

When I bought my 27" iMac, iLife came w it. iPhoto used to be part of iLife. It is sold separately now. Have no idea what you did to get the wrong version, unless Apple installed it, which I really doubt. Call or visit an Apple store and ask for the correct version.

Hi: I was just wondering -- if one already has a 27" iMac, will one be eligible to upgrade to the Maverick? I bought my Mac in January. How does Apple usually handle upgrades?

Maverick is the operating system to come in the fall. Your decision upon upgrading your operating system will be based upon will your present applications work on the new operating system. Since your mac is new, probably yes for all applications. But maybe not for a few. You might want to read up on any applications you use to see if they will be compatible w the new Maverick Operating System.

Whether you get a free upgrade, or not will depend upon Apple purchase rules. Your Apple Store can tell you whether it will be free or not.

Today, with internet, you can download the upgrade installer from the Apple Store if that is what you choose to do.

Macs aren't TVs, the software corrupts sometimes. I hope you keep your main HD backed up. It's devastating to have a crash and no backup.

I would be rather surprised to learn that Apple feels than an 8 or 9 or 10 month old computer should qualify for a free MacOS upgrade.

Typically, that is done for machines sold within a couple of weeks of the announcement of availability of the new OS (not the announcement of the *name* of the future OS....).

Howdy.

There have been several sites that have posted lists of the Macintosh
computer models that will be able to run Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

This is probably a fairly accurate guide but this could also change by
the time the new OS is actually available.

iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or
later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
Xserve (Early 2009)

BTW. Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion cost $19.95 at the Mac App Store
online.

Are you using the same apple ID on both devices?

Howdy.

I think I am.

I've tried following several online suggestions about how to check this
but what I'm reading and what I see on my iPad/iPhone don't match.

I would try signing out of the store on all devices & then sign in with the same ID on all of them. Good luck!

Another thing to check on your iOS devices is Settings>iTunes & App Stores. Make sure that the Apple ID shown there match. You can tap the box showing your ID for more info about your account.

Howdy!

Pat Taylor gets a GOLD STAR!

This was the tip that got the bookmarking fixed.

In Settings>iTunes & App Stores on iPad, there was a different,
previously used Apple ID.

To fix it I had to Sign Out of it on iPad, the enter correct Apple ID
and Password and sign back in.

Bookmarking started working immediately.

Thanks and a tip of Denver Dan's just purchased sun hat.
