Hi everyone,

Have you ever dealt with the annoying problem of Finder windows
"forgetting" their View Options all the time?

I recently did some cleaning up with Onyx, making sure that I would
rebuild ds_store information, but that didn't help.

If you mean such things as windows opening in various (always smaller, I think) sizes other than what they had been in the past, then yes, I've experienced that. At some point the problem went away with no action on my part to fix it. I think I have gone through a couple of cycles of this, though.

Sorry to confuse...
Electric power companies are known by various other names locally in
different regions;
Here in Canada, at least in Ontario where electricity is produced at
hydroelectric dams such as at Niagara River, electricity is known as
hydro; provided by the hydro company.....
Water is the water utility, or water & sewer service..., etc.

Mississauga Hydro is now known as Enersource, water is provided by Peel
Region, and covers water supply and sewer services....

Your local utility can be called something else....

As far as checking your power usage, you could inquire at your power

I have to say I am confused. Hydro utility? You mean the company or
municipal service that supplies you with water? Why would they have such
a gizmo?

Barry,
That would be hydro-electric power. As in a dam.

In browsing the apps on my 27" iMac running OSX 6.8, I noticed iAd Producer
appears with the sign "O and a diagonal line".

When I try to activate the app, an error message appears "You can't open the
application iAd Producer.app because it may be damaged or incomplete.

Possibly this occurred when Apple replaced the seagate HD.

Could this be causing the delay for sleep mode?
How can I correct this app to be functioning properly?

I went here:
https://developer.apple.com/iad/iadproducer/

but it seems to be for "Apple Developers", not for people like me, right?

Thanks for your help,
Donna

If you don't use or need it, simply delete it.

It's (the original complete app) on a backup somewhere, just in case?

Isn't that just the standard way of indicating an older app that won't run on the installed OS?

iPhoto has its own settings for which mail program to use. Go to iPhoto Preferences and under the General tab, choose your preferred email program from the "Email photos using:" menu.

This MAY not help, because the only two choices I've seen under that menu have been Mail.app and Outlook. But maybe Eudora has horned in there somehow?

Thanks. I just went to its preferences and saw just that. Of course now I changed it to Mail.

I found Eudora, Mail, and two Micro$oft programs, Entourage and Look-out! (Well, they spell it outlook). My suspicion is that iPhoto scans your disk and somehow finds Email programs, and so it gives you choices. Since I did not see an other choice, that is my wild guess, at any rate. If you do not have Eudora then maybe that is why only Mail and Outlook are your choices. My guess, furthermore, is that you have only Office-11, and no longer have -08 on your disk, since -08 has Entourage and -11 Outlook.

RU talking about having to re-register CS6 over and over? I've been getting the dialogue every time I open Photoshop. I asked about it on the Adobe PS forum and only got that lots of people were complaining. It's an Adobe problem. They know about it.

In the meantime I just hide Adobe Application Manager (press cmd-H) and keep using PS without putting in the serial number or click Trial and wait till it's over. It's a pain I know. I have a text clipping of my SN on my desktop which I just copy and paste when I need it.

I was going to play with Little Snitch rules and not allow CS6 to phone home, but have not gotten around to it.

I have set up find my IPhone (and IPad) on my IPhone and IPad and MAC. I'd like to add my wife's devices also. So she can find my devices and I can find her devices. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks,

Ken Klein

To quote one of the TV spots for the iPhone of a year or two ago "there's an app for that!"

It's called "Find my Friends" and it will do exactly what you're looking for.
