iFormBuilder Partners with Socket Mobile and Klipfolio for Cyber Defense - Published on 04/30/13

Zerion Software, Inc. participated in the 2013 National CyberWatch Center Mid-Atlantic Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC). Collegiate cyber-defenders worked to protect a mock national democratic election against expert computer hackers. Zerion Software provided eight iPads, running the iFormBuilder mobile platform with the iForm Kiosk App. Using Socket Mobile scanners, participants were able to scan their Voter ID Card and vote. Klipfolio provided real-time election results.
Herndon, Virginia - Zerion Software, Inc., the creator of the iFormBuilder mobile platform, participated in the 2013 National CyberWatch Center Mid-Atlantic Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC). Held at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland on April 10-13, collegiate cyber-defenders worked to protect a mock national democratic election against expert computer hackers.
"The CCDC really shows these students what it's like to protect a network from a coordinated, malicious cyberattack," said Casey O'Brien, director of the National CyberWatch Center at Prince George's Community College (MD). "It's a phenomenal educational experience that's also teaching them what it's like out there in the cybersecurity world."
Zerion Software provided eight iPads, running iForm Kiosk, allowing participants to vote in the mock election. Using Socket Mobile CHS barcode scanners, participants scanned their Voter ID Card and voted on the factitious country's president, flag, animal, and local congressional representative. Using the iFormBuilder mobile platform with the iForm Kiosk App, participants scanned their voter card information with the Socket scanner to easily populate voter information and then proceeded to vote. The data was passed securely to the Cloud to allow for real-time results.

By integrating with Klipfolio, real time election results were displayed on large monitors minutes after the votes were captured.

Eight teams of college students competed for the mid-Atlantic regional title during competition: Anne Arundel Community College (MD), Capitol College (MD), Craven Community College (NC), Millersville University (PA), North Carolina State University, Radford University (VA), University of Maryland at College Park, and University of Maryland University College. The winning team, Millersville University, moved on to the National CCDC in San Antonio.

Valentina Studio Pro 5.2 has additional features over Valentina Studio, including Query Builder, SQL DIFF, database diagramming and a powerful visual Reports Designer. Reports generated from Valentina Studio 5 can be exported as web pages, PDF and images. Valentina Studio Pro is available for $199.
Developer solutions for local applications allow incorporating the ultra fast Valentina DB and Valentina Reports engines into desktop applications and cost $199 per platform. Valentina ADK 5.2 (application developer kits) for Valentina DB and Valentina Reports integrate the new features available in the Valentina kernel.
