Look the system up on Crucial.com or OWC (macsales.com) for RAM and drive compatibility. I suspect you can put in a 500GB drive which is about the limit on 2.5" drives at the moment. I like the idea of the SS accelerated "hybrid" drives if they fit your usage, but the only manufacturer I'm comfortable recommending these days is Hitachi, and they don't make one. Have been very disappointed by Seagate and WD reliability. Get the fastest you can afford. 7200rpm or SSD, biggest cache. The 3/6Gb connection speed doesn't matter as the drive can't max this out. For battery power, you're better off using sleep settings than worrying about the drive specs. Drive power consumption is really only an issue in "always on" systems, not laptops.
Cheers,

Howdy.
Carol, keyboard commands have been around on Macintosh for nearly 30
years.
These keyboard commands are designed to be used with one hand on left
and right side of keyboard.
Windows copied some of these commands but used the Control key which is
not as convenient as the Mac Command key that is closer to the space
bar.
Command a = Select all icons
Command q = Quit
Command w = Close the window
Command s = Save file
Command d = duplicate selected icon (including a folder of files)
Command f = Find, fine files, folders, anything using Spotlight in
detail
Command h = Hide the active window or document
Command o = Open a file or icon
Command p = Print
There are 4 special keys that work for:
Command z = Cutting icon/item
Command x = Cutting icon/item to Clipboard
Command c = Copying icon/item to Clipboard
Command v = Paste icon/item in Clipboard to cursor position
Use these last four with thumb and index finger.
And just wait until you discover how much easier it is on a Macintosh
to use common accented letters like résumé (e with grave), fünf (five
with u umlaut in German), and Peña (n tilda).

Have anyone on this list experienced a temporary (a few hours ) loss of all sound on the iPhone when upgrading to IOS 6.1? Two nights ago I upgraded my iPhone 5 to IOS 6.1 and the next morning my sound did not work. I checked to make sure I hadn't put the mute button on. I hadn't. I had no sound for a few hours and then all of a sudden the phone made a strange noise and the sound came back. Any ideas what might have caused this? I have only had this phone for just under a month.
Joan in Vermont where we had a January thaw that melted anything one could ski on, and now it is frigid again, with no snow cover to protect the tulips (or ski on). Sigh.
