Carol,
Earlier in this thread I posted a link to a comprehensive list of
shortcuts. I think you would find it useful. Here it is again.

It appears to me that it is not possible to search just one mailbox in Mail.app. I open a mailbox and type my search term, and apparently my entire collection of email is searched.
I thought there was a way to search within just one mailbox, or am I just remembering this from Eudora days?

After entering the term, you can select the mailbox by clicking the name in the horizontal list just above the main window. (This is in OS X 10.8.2, but I think it's the same for 10.6 and 10.7.)

Yes, it's been possible to be selective in Mail searches for as long as I
can remember. In 10.5.8, the options are
All Mailboxes/Current mailbox and
Entire Message/From/To/Subject/

This sounds like exactly what I need. But I'm not finding a "horizontal list just above the main window"
Could somebody be kind enough to send me a screen shot of where to look? I'm using OS X 10.7.5 and Mail.app version 5.3.

Finally being able to move up from my old eMac (yes, eMac, not iMac) I just got and
learning how to use use iPad, 4th generation, but I'm unhappy that to do almost anything all my private information is required, like download iCloud. They want my credit card # and code before I can use ICloud! This, after I've already giving them all but my blood type! Now I seem locked out of even watching the iCloud video.
Sorry I haven't been active here for awhile but iCloud and issues may have already been posted but putting the word iCloud in the search field doesn't get me to anything on it in the archives. I must not know how to use the archives search.
Your thoughts and/or help appreciated,
Kitty

Go to a local retail outlet (such as the Rite Aid pharmacy in my neighborhood), and buy an iTunes gift card. Enter its code into iTunes on your iPad, and you should be able to set up an account without a credit card.

Howdy.
Apple requests a credit card, email, and password when you create an
Apple iTunes music store account. You can use this same Apple iTunes
music store account and password for other Apple things like the free
iCloud and the iBooks digital bookstore and iTunes U and Podcasts.
When you want to download an iPad app you will need this account
whether it's a free app or a paid app.
If you wish to use iCloud, it needs to be done with an iCloud/Apple
email address that you set up on your iPad. You do not need to use
that email for email but it is used for syncing data between your Mac,
your iCloud, and your iPad.
Note that there are also free books on the iBooks book store.
I suggest that you download the free Apple Podcast app and also
download the free Apple iBooks app for your new iPad. You will; need
the account and password to do that.
BTW. I REALLY LIKE the iBooks app and reading with it.
Good luck.

You shouldn't even need to do that:

I've done it by downloading and installing a free app. You're then presented with the option to create a new Apple ID and check the 'None' option next to payment.

I know what their asking for but after having given them so much of my private info already, it seems like asking for trouble if I give my credit card # and code too. If I'm not buying aything is it really any of their business? I hate this....
Maybe it's been explained already how I can get around this but I still don't understand what I should do. I have two email address but only use one for email. Kitty

Never experienced anything like that. It helps to Power Down my iPhone4 ever so often. Most of the time, everything works beautifully. If things begin to slow, I power down, shut down completely, whatever it's called. Then start up again. But don't have to much.

I've just installed ActivePython but do not seem to be able to do anything other than use the interactive. I've tried working with the getting started tutorials but the pictures are for Windows and also might be for an older version(?). So, how do I the rest of ActivePython?
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a PPC G4
