Firefox is one browser that stores passwords that can only be accessed
once you enter your "master" password. This unlocks the list and makes
all the passwords visible if you choose to "show passwords". Not sure
you can override the master password, that defeats the purpose, no? To
find it go here:
Preferences / Security tab: There you can change the master password and
view the websites that have passwords stored; as well as making those
visible once you log in with the master password.

Brent, thank you so much! I think this is where I need to be!

Not sure what you mean by 'picture symbol attached to the cursor'. You should be using the 'all contact' list to move contacts to a group list.

Is that a Mountain Lion thing? It doesn't work for me in Lion, but it's certainly unusual. Why not just drag the contact to the group name?

Dragging did not work for me either in Mountain Lion.

Does anyone know how to copy an iphoto album so that it stays in it's manually arranged order? I want to put the picts on a memory stick for a presentation on another computer. Thanks in advance. Bonnie

The only way I know how to keep files in the order you want them is to number them. I would use a three-digit numbering system, such as 001, 002, etc. if you already named the photos, put the numbers at the beginning.

If you were to move the one file "iPhoto Library" and open that file in iPhoto on another computer, your order would stay the same, but if you open the iPhoto file in anything else, your database order may not be recognized.

You didn't just store your images in iPhoto, you stored them in a database application.

make a slide show, then copy 'that' to your USB stick - slide show should stay in the order you prefer - you can add music too.

I have a dual G5 Powermac. It is running Tiger and it has an airport and 3 BG of ram. I have a 1TB HD a 2TB HD and a 3TB hard drive. I have Tiger installed on the 1 TB HD and I wanted to install Tiger on the 2 TB hard drive and transfer the data from the 1 TB HD to the 2 TB HD. In the Installation process it asked me if I wanted to transfer and I selected the transfer from another partition option. After the transfer was complete I booted from the 2 TB HD and everything seemed to be in order except when I tried to use my Logitech wireless keyboard. It did not seem to work and then realized that the keys were different. I had to press the windows key and Q to quit instead of the apple key and q to quit. Also I can't connect to the router. I get the error of the wireless network does not support the requested encryption method. What do I do? Coud it be the keychain?? I tried repairing permissions to no avail. Was it a bad transfer?? Should I do it again?

Help
David

Did you use the GUID partition map on the external drive or the APM map?

Greetings!

My system: iMac 27" 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 1TB internal 1TB external 8GB memory
System 10.8.2 Fast Comcast Internet connection ($90 per month!)

My Address Book (Contacts) is broken. I can look up email addresses, phone numbers, etc. but I cannot change them.

I thought I could use "Restore" (startup with Command R) and perhaps re-install the Contacts app.

When I startup with Command R, I get the rotating globe as I should. Then I get a request for my Router name and password.

It lists several network names (there are probably a half-dozen near me) but it does not list my own Apple Extreme Network Name (which is "Apple Network a9830d".)

I have attempted to enter that Network Name in the "other" place, but then nothing happens. The globe is still rotating but 20 minutes later -- no action. Is there a 'plist' file I need to dump?

Two questions: First, is 'Restore' the right way to re-install an Apple app?
Next: Why doesn't my 'Restore' respond?

Many thanks in advance!

earle
