Not sure what "5 r's" refers to but the solution for the Touch not appearing in
iTunes worked.  Thanks for the suggestion!!

Don

Have you tried rebooting the iPod? Here is a link to the five Rs

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

The 5 "r"s are reset, retry, restart, reinstall and restore. The touch has similar steps. I had a similar problem that ended up being the cable. Do you have a apple or PC?

I have a PC.  Changing cables was one of the first things I did.  And I made
certain the iPod was fully charged.  Shutting down the iPod as well as the PC
and starting each up again resolved my issue.  Why?  I have no clue.  But I now
can/will continue to long for an iPad which was my next recourse if everything
else failed.

Thanks again and for the lesson on the 5 r's!!

Don
