Hi Dan
I have Bjango's iStat Menus on my Finder bar and it will report upload
and download speeds. Perhaps give that a try. If doing so, perhaps a
large data file may be needed to measure constant throughput from one
device to another...

I also like MenuMeters for it's RAM and processor usage readouts.
If a machine is chugging all of a sudden, a quick glance at your toolbar may tell you your processors are maxed dealing w/some safari web content process, or what have you. Clicking the processor indicators can take you directly to the Activity Monitor if you want to investigate further.
If a website isn't responding and there's 0 bytes showing in the throughput then you can trace that issue. Also there is a direct link to Network Utility and Network Preferences form that readout. I use photoshop and Lightroom together, and seeing the available ram is handy too.

I can't find a way to turn off the spelling feature that seems to have a mind of its own. Any guidance?

Hi there
After suffering through some weird AppleTV issues (movies rented from the iTunes store would take 12-18 hours to load, while everything else worked fine) I moved my router (a Time Capsule) to the bedroom and ran an ethernet cable directly from it to the AppleTV. Problem solved.
Then along came a firmware update, and since then my AppleTV loses its network connection at least once per day. I'm not having any other network related issues and the only fix I've found is to restart the AppleTV pretty much every time we want to use it. This is ridiculous. Anyone else seeing this, or have any great ideas?
It's the second generation AppleTV, running software v5.1 (5201).
Thanks!
Dane
