Is that something new in 10.8, because on my MBP running 10.7.5 screenshots land on the Desktop?

It's being saved as a file that you'll find in the Screenshots folder within the Documents folder. Go there and double-click on the file to open it.

I'm running 7.5, and mine go to a Screenshots folder in Documents in Home. I don't remember selecting this placement as a Pref.

No.
I'm on 10.8 and have no folder called Screenshots anywhere.
My screenshots go to the desktop.

Thanks for the answers, guys.
I ordered the drive. I have Toast Titanium 11, thanks to a bundle deal
from Cult of Mac.
Now... would authoring Blu-Ray discs make a huge difference over burning
double-layer DVDs?

As previously mentioned, I just crossed over to Mac and love it! However, I am a longtime Quicken user. I've read on Amazon that Quicken for Mac has horrible reviews and no one is happy with it.
Can anyone recommend a checkbook app or program that is good? I've purchased the "Savings" app and it's fine but I'm not completely sold on it.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a basic checkbook? Similar to Quicken?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Quicken is one of only two or three programs for which I must have Windows. Last time I looked at Quicken for Mac it was useless for my purposes, and I haven't seen any other recommendations. I would be delighted if someone chimed in here with a better alternative, but it would have to be able to do online bill payment and download from my accounts, and interface with TurboTax (the Mac version of which I think is fine).
I am running Windows 7 under Parallels Desktop, and now that I've bumped my RAM up to 8 GB I am quite happy with the performance.
Best,
Jim
