With nowhere to turn, they call the Math Heroes: Maurice, the Whiz Kid; Romula, the Big Number Sis; Justice, the Pint-Sized Lady Hero; and Julian, the Baby Genius. Costumed, caped and masked and realistically rendered in 3D, they don their helmets for action and arrive at the house just in time.
Inside and outside the house, players are challenged with seven different math games to defeat the dragons. Each game has four levels of play: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Really Hard. Math Heroes vs Dragons also tracks several metrics of each player's performance and can save and resume play for an unlimited number of different players. Stats can be viewed in the Player Data screen where heroes browse certificates accompanying their Progress and Game Awards. Completing a round without any mistakes scores a perfect. In addition to unlocking bonus video content, scoring a perfect in all of the games for a given difficulty level takes players into an awesome Boss Battle with one of the dragon leaders.

Inkflow 3's Inkport Does a Neat Trick - Published on 08/08/13

Inkflow's most distinguishing feature is its smooth vector-based ink that can be easily resized and stretched. Version 3.0 adds several important improvements, and a unique new capability called Inkport. Inkport lets you easily pull in material from multiple sources and go from paper to iPad without losing your train of thought.

Inkflow's most distinguishing feature is its smooth vector-based ink that can be easily resized and stretched. Version 3.0 is a major update that adds several important improvements, and a unique new capability called Inkport.
Inkport: Copy and Paste from the Real World:
Inkport uses the iPad's camera to scan high-resolution images of your written or printed notes and instantly converts them into Inkflow's native vector ink. Once on your iPad, you can edit, rotate, resize and rearrange things as if you had drawn them in Inkflow.
Inkport lets you easily pull in material from multiple sources and go from paper to iPad without losing your train of thought. See a shape or pattern in a book you like? Use Inkport to pull it into Inkflow and incorporate it into your designs. Easily combine notes and drawings from different notebooks. Inkport works well across a variety of handwritten and printed media, and is optimized for dark inks on light colored paper. Prefer to think in color? No problem, Inkport works with colored inks too.
Inkport is going to change the way you use pen and paper in your workflow. What used to require scanning in your notes, then spending minutes tweaking filters in Photoshop can now be done instantly, right on your iPad. Allowing you to spend more time on your ideas instead of on your tools. Inkport is included in the Plus Edition of Inkflow.
Other Upgrades:
Inkflow 3 also includes a slew of interface and feature enhancements that make it even easier to use. You can now directly access your .inkflow files via iTunes. iPad users also get an adjustable wrist guard, and the ability to set text style defaults. For existing and new Inkflow Plus users: In addition to Inkport, also new is the ability to rotate photos, with a new rotation snap feature. Also new is a new menu option to flip ink. Let's look at these additional features in a little more detail:
iTunes File Sharing:
For users with a lot of Inkflow books, iTunes File Sharing is a powerful way to manage your files directly. To access your books, open iTunes, select your device, then click on Inkflow in the Apps tab. Each book is stored in it's own .inkflow file. You can copy these books to your Mac for backing up, or to another iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with Inkflow installed. You can even access your files wirelessly using WiFi syncing in iTunes.
Wrist Guard (iPad):
Inkflow 3 has an adjustable wrist guard for the iPad. There's a new faint gray tab at the lower right of your screen. Pull it up to show the wrist guard. Drag it up and down to adjust the wrist guard height. You can also tap on the tab to quickly toggle the wrist guard display.
Text Defaults (iPad):
The text editor toolbar now has a new option to set the default font style. Set up any combination of font, font-weight, alignment, size, and color you want, then tap on the new Favorite Style button (with the star icon), and select "Set As Default Style." All newly added text will have this style.
You can also change the currently edited text's style to match the current default with the second option: "Reset to Default Style." This is also a handy way to quickly copy the style from one text box to another.
Photo Rotation with Rotation Snap (Inkflow Plus):
You can now rotate images along with ink. Rotating images is easy enough, just select one or more images, including ink if you like, and drag the round rotation grip as before.
What's new is that you'll notice 8 or more round snap guides appear around the circumference of rotation. Dragging near to these guides to snap to the 8 compass points. You can also drag your finger farther away to rotate to an arbitrary angle. Ink and photos now rotate together, so you can easily keep your annotations pinned to your photos when rotating.
Flip Ink (Inkflow Plus):
Inkflow's signature selection tool has always allowed you to easily scale and stretch ink. You can now also flip ink to create a mirror image. To use it, just select some ink, tap on the selection, then select "Flip Ink." To flip ink vertically, first flip it horizontally, then use the rotation snap feature to turn it 180 degrees. These two new features work really well together. You can now easily create repeating patterns and tessellation effects of your work.

Other Upgrades:
Inkflow 3 also includes a slew of interface and feature enhancements that make it even easier to use. You can now directly access your .inkflow files via iTunes. iPad users also get an adjustable wrist guard, and the ability to set text style defaults. For existing and new Inkflow Plus users: In addition to Inkport, also new is the ability to rotate photos, with a new rotation snap feature. Also new is a new menu option to flip ink. Let's look at these additional features in a little more detail:
iTunes File Sharing:
For users with a lot of Inkflow books, iTunes File Sharing is a powerful way to manage your files directly. To access your books, open iTunes, select your device, then click on Inkflow in the Apps tab. Each book is stored in it's own .inkflow file. You can copy these books to your Mac for backing up, or to another iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with Inkflow installed. You can even access your files wirelessly using WiFi syncing in iTunes.
Wrist Guard (iPad):
Inkflow 3 has an adjustable wrist guard for the iPad. There's a new faint gray tab at the lower right of your screen. Pull it up to show the wrist guard. Drag it up and down to adjust the wrist guard height. You can also tap on the tab to quickly toggle the wrist guard display.
Text Defaults (iPad):
The text editor toolbar now has a new option to set the default font style. Set up any combination of font, font-weight, alignment, size, and color you want, then tap on the new Favorite Style button (with the star icon), and select "Set As Default Style." All newly added text will have this style.
You can also change the currently edited text's style to match the current default with the second option: "Reset to Default Style." This is also a handy way to quickly copy the style from one text box to another.
Photo Rotation with Rotation Snap (Inkflow Plus):
You can now rotate images along with ink. Rotating images is easy enough, just select one or more images, including ink if you like, and drag the round rotation grip as before.
What's new is that you'll notice 8 or more round snap guides appear around the circumference of rotation. Dragging near to these guides to snap to the 8 compass points. You can also drag your finger farther away to rotate to an arbitrary angle. Ink and photos now rotate together, so you can easily keep your annotations pinned to your photos when rotating.

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Preschool University today is pleased to introduce SENTENCE READING MAGIC 2.0 - 2 & 3-Word Sentences for iOS, an update to its free app that provides the missing link between reading words and reading books - reading sentences. The app has two modes: Sentence Building, where children drag the words into their correct positions, creating a sentence, and Reading Mode, where kids read the words of the sentence aloud and then check their work by touching the hidden picture. The app features touch-to-hear, audible pronunciation of words, sentences, hints, and pictures that illustrate sentences. This major update includes new sound and image files and now uses only complete sentences.

Designed by Montessori preschool owner and lead teacher Richard Colombini, SENTENCE READING MAGIC is the first of a series of apps to concentrate on building and reading sentences. As the first of the series, it focuses on short vowel words of three letters or fewer (excepting plurals and double consonant endings). The goal is to enhance the learning process by setting up the right conditions for learners to be successful. The app gives emerging readers a step that will encourage skill building and confidence in reading.
SENTENCE READING MAGIC operates in landscape orientation, and users can select either Sentence Building mode or Sentence Reading mode and 2-word or 3-word sentences. In 3-word Sentence Building mode, there is a large color photo inside a square at the center of the screen. The picture provides the concrete example on the basis of which the student can construct the phrase or sentence. Three words, each in a rectangle, appear randomly on the top half of the display. The words are all four letters or fewer. At the bottom of the screen are three empty rectangles side-by-side. The child must recognize the correct sentence, then drag the first word of the sentence to position one, the second word to rectangle two, and the last word to position three. Words dragged to the wrong position will not be accepted. Having successfully dragged all the words into place, the app plays music or an appropriate sound effect. At the same time, the three rectangles become one long rectangle, joined into
a new entity: a sentence. Touching the words or picture reads the sentence or phrase aloud, e.g. "Sam sat up."
In 3-word Sentence Reading mode, the large illustration square is blank. Three words are already occupying each of the three rectangles below. Here, students must read the 3-word sentence aloud. They may choose to check their answers as they progress by touching each word to hear it aloud. Having completed the exercise, the learner can touch the empty square to view the illustrative picture and hear the phrase or sentence aloud, e.g., "The pup runs."
According to Hestia Abeyesekera Ed.D., director of Kinderhaus of Musik, and former Montessori teacher with more than 20 years experience, "This application is a focused and effective exercise in reading practice. The distractions are removed and the learning task is isolated for precision. The application has built in control of error systems, too. These things help make this a great reading application."
An ideal interactive learning app for beginning readers, SENTENCE READING MAGIC has all the qualities of an engaging, entertaining reading game for preschoolers. There is no scoring, competition, or running clock that would put it in the category of a Game, rather than Education App. But in practice, there is often no distinction between playing and learning. And SENTENCE READING MAGIC 2.0 will provide hours of lively enjoyment and rigorous skill building combined in an expertly designed and executed, free iOS app.

The sequel High Noon 2 features high-res 3D graphics and new animated cowboy and cowgirl characters with theatrical expressions. With the game's outlandish characters and incredible graphics already in place, Happylatte has set the stage for new items, features, and gameplay to be added in the near future.
The release of High Noon 2 marks a major milestone for Happylatte as iOS and Android players will now be able to play the game cross-platform. On February 2013 we have launched SketchBlock on the App Store after the great success of Drawing Box. But is it another painting application among the multitude similar applications? Is there something more to implement besides the creations of the major studios?
We do believe that SketchBlock, not only has its own personality, is capable to innovate in painting on tactile devices. Discovery time is over, we have to bring innovation now. In this new version of SketchBlock, we made great efforts to upgrade usability and efficiency.
The first function we have upgraded is about the undo/redo. Any people painting on iPad permanently use the undo/redo function to correct his work, allowing them to take back a series of actions. The undo feature enables learning and exploring an application without prejudice. This is crucial for graphical activities. But usually the user has to make undos tap-by-tap. This can be done easily if you have just several corrections to perform. But when about 20 or more undos are required, the actions can be slow and boring. SketchBlock introduces the idea of flexibility into the undo action. You can make one tap on the undo button to perform the action step-by-step, or you can make a long press on the same button to make multiple undos. You will simultaneously see your actions displayed on the screen, and lift the finger when you get enough undos. The redos operate in the same way, just with a long press on the redo button. According to our test, the linear multiple undos works quite 3
times quicker than the tap-by-tap action.
The second amazing feature we have implemented into this new version is the ability to create new colours. Despite of the large number of colour palettes (14) and the colour wheel provided inside SketchBlock, artists and professionals sometimes feel necessary to create their own colours and save them for later use. This is easy to perform now. You can mix 2 or more colours on a sheet of paper (just like traditional painting) by picking a colour from a palette or the colour wheel and paint on the screen. The more you paint the better blending you get. Then, with a long press on the chosen colour, you save it to your personal palette. Your personal palette can contain an unlimited number of colours.
Some other new features can be found in this version:
* Layers manipulation: import a picture into a selected layer, specially the import from SketchBlock gallery is useful for creating several version of an artwork without leaving the painting page, or mixing several paintings into an unique one. You can also resize and rotate manually a layer.
* Make a long press on the eraser button to clear the whole layer.
* Instead of turning the pages, just pinch the gallery window to display more paintings. Then slide them left or right to see all your works. Expand fingers to return to the normal view.
* When you choose a grid as background, you can see the graduation in pixels on each grid. This is helpful when you need to draw pictures with precise dimensions, or inside a predefined frame.
