Jack and the Beanstalk a Mathematical Adventure is intended for students from kindergarten to 3rd grade. Children can learn and practice math as they join Jack on an epic adventure, which unfolds one step at a time. By solving the math problems, players help Jack overcome obstacles in his path. In the game, the player assumes the role of a simple pixel and have to work with other players to form all kinds of different shapes. Collaboration is essential. The more players there are, the more complex shapes are given. It's a situation where rewards are given out for being in a group and trying to understand what others are going to do.
Vilnius, Lithuania - On5, the creators of the award winning games Draw Mania (Charadium) and Spice Bandits, are presenting Indie Pixel 1.0, a new experiment in the social game genre for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Indie Pixel is a fun and addicting game, putting players into the life of a pixel.
In the game, the player assumes the role of a simple pixel and have to work with other players to form all kinds of different shapes. The more players there are, the more complex shapes are given. With every correct formation, players are rewarded with points and open a part of a unique background. The ultimate goal is to have every background unlocked. It's a simple goal made difficult by having almost no means of communication.
That is the experimental part - how people manage to work together without any words spoken and achieve the result that they are aiming for. It's a situation where rewards are given out for being in a group and trying to understand what others are going to do. Collaboration is essential.
Everyone is a pixel and have the same role but that doesn't mean that they can't stand out. Player can customize their pixel using many different clothing items. There are so many, that everyone can come up with an original combination and stand out from the rest. Want to put on a green cap, blue shoes and huge glasses? You can!
There are also 9 different power-up that spice up the gameplay. Players can become four times bigger, eat others or steal points them. They all make the gameplay a bit more dynamic and even slightly chaotic at times.
