Objective-Cologne 2013: New Sponsors, New Speakers, New Old Price - Published on 08/16/13

The International Cocoa Conference in Cologne Germany happening in less than 5 weeks has not only announced amazing new speakers but as well brought back the Early Bird Price and is now almost offering the 2012 videos, giving the ability to look into how awesome the conference will be this year. Bringing together noted speakers and attendees from around the world, the event will happen in Cologne's lovely "Old Auction House". Ticket Holders will also be entitled to the Conference Dinner.
Cologne, Germany - Manuel "StuFF mc" Carrasco Molina, owner of Pomcast.biz, maker of the Mac apps "Disk Alarm" and "Comments"; is organizing this year again the Cocoa/Objective-C Conference on September 17th & 18th, in beautiful Cologne, Germany. "StuFF mc" is also know for his Pomcast podcast which interviewed among others Steve Wozniak, Aaron Hillegass and many Cocoa Developers. Over the years, many of those developers became close friends to him and some of those are the speakers of the conference.
Recently some things have been changed and announced. First and foremost, for those willing to have some kind of "sneak peak" into the 2012 Edition, the videos are now lowered to 2 Euro each and only 9 Euro for the whole set of 10 videos. Remember also that all 2013 attendees not only get the 2012 videos but they will get the 2013 videos for free as well a few weeks after the conference, whereas others might have to wait and/or pay.
It's very important to note that even though it happens in Germany, the whole conference will happen in English. Each Session, Panel, Information will be given in English, and the whole "Team" will obviously attend you in English.
Names likes John Fox from MemoryMiner/Findery.com (Just announced!), Mike Lee, Steve "Scotty" Scott (from NSConference!), Rainer Brockerhoff, Ortwin Gentz, or Alex Von Below might sound familiar to some of you. Mike has worked at Delicious Monster, before starting a company called Tapulous, then working for the Mothership (Apple Inc), then built "Appsterdam" in The Netherlands and recently released an iOS game about chemistry.
John Fox once wrote an email to Steve Jobs back in 2005 (see his blog) to thank him. This was the time when he was starting with Memory Miner, his Mac Product. Low and behold, 8 years (!) later, he's still there with his amazing app and has learned how to "re-use" not only his code but his domain of excellence (Photography and so on) and this is what he'll speak about.
Steve "Scotty" Scott started to be known back in the days with the "Late Night Cocoa" Podcast, before he organized the first Independent Cocoa Conference in Europe, NSConference, back in 2009. This is mainly what inspired StuFF mc to start Objective-Cologne in 2012. Scotty will speak about building a community around your product, which is obviously highly important for any Indie Developer or company.
Alex von Below is one of the best known Cocoa Developers in Germany. He has been developing as well as teaching the subject for many many years. Like Mike, he was "there before the iPhone, mind you!" so he knows this stuff! Some might think knowing about Memory is not necessary since ARC, but let's face it: this is wrong...
Katharina Hausmann & Erik Romijn were attendees last year, starting a tradition Stuff wants to bring back every year: if you attend, you are risking to be asked to speak! Damien Gosset is a close friend of StuFF mc from France. He's the one who recommended the amazing "Zino" last year.
Also, Ortwin Gentz has accepted to come back to the conference for yet another "sneak peak" at how is does make his products looks so polished, by using many techniques.
Mind you: if most of the speakers from last years aren't there, it's not because we didn't like them. We loved them! We just want to bring some fresh year every year. Some of those speakers, like Alex Repty, already booked their ticket to come back as regular attendees.

The storybook introduces gorillas at Jungle Music School learning piano and violin, and after a serendipitous exposure to tunes from other rock star jungle musicians, sees them enthusiastically form a band and write a song with everything from Drums to Double Bass.

The utterly practical cases are set to be as essential as SPF this summer by giving standout protection against water splashing and submersion - ideal for those hitting the beach, reclining on a boat or lounging by the pool with phone in hand.
The first of the two new designs is the coolly covetable TouchAbility Waterproof Hard Case for Mobile Phones. Totally transparent, the must have accessory can be fitted to the handset in just a few seconds and then provides effortless waterproof protection up to 3 metres. The completely watertight seal provides total peace of mind, giving unbeatable moisture resistance whether the phone is hanging out on deck, snapping selfies at the seaside or streaming music on a sun lounger by the pool.
Minimalist in style with maximum performance, the case is made from a high quality hard yet flexible plastic case with clear silicone to the front and rear for full camera and screen visibility. The slim line case is supremely lightweight, making it ideally suited to dropping into hand luggage or throwing in to a suitcase before jetting off to sunnier climes. The case comes with a convenient, detachable strap which can be looped around the wrist, reducing the chances of accidentally dropping the phone when out and about. It is easy to clean and reseal and is compatible with the iPhone 4 / 4S / 5 and a range of other mobile phone models, as well as the iPod touch. The second of the two new designs is the TouchAbility Waterproof Bag Case for Mobile Phones. The hot new design includes a unique side window for supreme ease of operation and clear front and back view so smartphone use is not compromised.
The waterproof pouch is made from tough waterproof PVC which provides unbeatable protection against splashes as well as total submersion up to a depth of 3 metres. Water, sand and dust proof, it is an indispensable addition to any festival or beach bag as well as offering total peace of mind when camping, hiking, skiing, canoeing or fishing. Lightweight with a detachable wrist strap to prevent accidental drops, the pouch is watertight when sealed but does not impede on any of the phone or camera functions. Once in place, the smartphone can still be used to make and receive calls, send texts, listen to music or surf the web. The touch screen also remains fully functional.
Available in black or white, the waterproof bag weighs just 30g and is compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 as well as any other device smaller than 5" tall. It is priced at GBP7.99.
