"It's just easy as pulling a ribbon," says H. Lee, the developer, "what we tried to accomplish was something vital for your daily life, but the only one of its kind at the same time. Something completely unique out of thousands of other timer apps out there."
The first thing you see when you launch the app is the 7 animated ribbons of 7 different colors on top of the screen. No buttons, no digits display, and no dials. When you pull a ribbon down, a time indicator appears automatically displaying timer period by the length of the ribbon. When you let go, the timer starts automatically. One dragging will do. Since the timer periods are preset with most common timer periods, it is easy and quick to set.
"The seven ribbons are individual. You can set up to seven timers at the same time. That's why every kitchen in the world needs rainbowTimer," says Lee, "and it's still the easiest and quickest timer for those who needs only one timer or two."
Because simplicity and intuitiveness were the most important things through the development, rainbowTimer uses different colors and sounds rather than text labels for each timer ribbon. Not only the colors but also the ringtone sounds are all differently composed by 7 musical notes. And you can customize rainbowTimer by choosing from 5 color theme presets.
