Have you checked to see if iTunes has the proper "Bluegrass" genre set for all of the songs you want want to hear in that category?

Hi, Good question. On my iPod the only genres that show up are 50's music, 90's music and classical, plus my top rated,etc. When I go to iTunes, it has "classical, country, folk, jazz, rock, soundtrack, 1950s mix and unknown genre.

In iTunes, on your computer, go to your music library.
Press and hold the Command key (the one with the Infinite Loop on it), then click to highlight each track you want to add to the 'Bluegrass' genre.
Right-click on the selected tracks and choose 'Get Info' from the contextual menu; you may get a dialog box warning that your are about to edit multiple items - which is our intent here.
Look at the lower left corner of the resulting editor box for the genre indicator, if it says 'Bluegrass' then all of your selected tracks are already tagged as such. If it's either blank, or says something else, click on the space and begin typing 'Bluegrass', the computer will autocomplete.
Once 'Bluegrass' is indicated click on the 'OK' button and repeat the process as necessary.
