Jim, when I followed that path on my own iMac to my POP account folder, inside that were .mbox files for my Inbox, Junk, Sent messages, Drafts, and Deleted (but none for the 25 or so mail folders I have created "On My Mac").

When I click on INBOX.mbox, I see inside it an Info.plist files and a folder with this name:
498E9770-2920-40F2-940C-75785FAF0502

Inside it is a folder called Data. Inside that are ten folders whose names are single digits from 0 to 9. And each of them contains one or more numbered folders. And each of those contains one or more numbered folders. If I open one of those there will be two folders, "Attachments" and "Messages," both of which are empty.

This is so different from what you describe that I wonder if Mail has changed is storage system between Lion and Mountain Lion? I'm running Mail version 5.3 (1283).

My "On My Mac" stuff is located under:
/Users/jimdoc/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes/

Please don't get the idea that I *understand* any of this weird file structure.
I have only rummaged around in it looking for stuff a couple of years before *you* decided to rummage around in it looking for stuff....

I have no idea why Mail does this so complexly. What you describe is what I see. The only occasions I have had to delve into these is when I wanted to edit the mailings I received from TidBits, and once I found their subfolder, I had little difficulty finding the correct individual message, by date.

I believe though, that Micro$oft Entourage did file them all in one database. Not sure, though, of its replacement of Outlook (or Look Out!) as a Windows-using friend of mine said years ago). The disadvantage of that is that this humongous file gets backed up in Time Machine every time it is changed.

And I thought I was the only one.

My 2011 iMac does the same thing.

I think that is just bluetooth for you, and the reason why I also have
another mac mouse with a cord installed.

Do you think that Apple would have bundle incorrect batteries with the Mouse and the charger I also got at the same time.

Also why do they only have problem the first couple days or so after installed after charging? After that they work till need recharge.

John
I take that back.
Just check one of the charged up Apple batteries and it is 1.43 V. Maybe it should be 1.2 but I'm using a non Apple charger, I gave my Apple charger to my grandson when I gave him my old mac.

NiMH batteries might have a nominal voltage of 1.2 but they usually measure
around 1.4 when fully charged. This is still less than disposable alkaline
batteries (1.5 nominal) so I don't see that it could be relevant to your
problem.

I have received notices both from Apple regarding iCloud storage and from Dropbox that I need. The question is how to sync my information between my computers, iPhone and iPad, specifically things like my 1Password information, Mail, Music etc. using Dropbox or iCloud or both and is it worth it to buy more storage on either? According to information about iCloud on my iPhone, I have a lot of storage (almost 23 GB) left in iCloud, whereas on Dropbox I have used 68% of my free storage (I use it for some documents). Should I do all the synching between devices on iCloud or on Dropbox (the Dropbox storage, $99 a year for 100 GB in Dropbox versus $40 for 25GB)? I don't synch my photos and I don't have any videos, so I don't think I need 100 GB, but is Dropbox more reliable?

I have an iPhone 5, an iPad 4 (running IOS 6.1.3), a MacBook Air and an older iMac, the latter two running Mountain Lion (10.8.4). I do travel and need to access my information from either the MacBook or the iPad. I do have a free-standing backup disk and I use Super Duper to do so.

Any advice is most appreciated.

Joan

Is anyone aware of any cable connections to connect an iPad to a printer?

Thanks,

No, but I use Printopia to print from my iPad to my wired Samsung & wireless Canon printers. You might check the app store for other apps to do the job.
