Second this recommendation - I've been using mine for 10 months - bought it from new egg.

A Canon scanner is connected to an iMac running 10.6.8. It scans nicely when using Image Capture application on this Mac.

In System Preferences I've opened up Sharing preferences and checked "Scanner Sharing", and checked the box next to this particular scanner.

When I open Image Capture on 2 other Macs (one 10.6.8, the other 10.8.4 -- I think) the shared scanner doesn't show.

There are no other scanners connected to these 3 Macs. It is an Ethernet LAN -- no wireless used.

I am sharing laser printers via Printer Sharing just fine -- no issues.

What am I doing wrong? Why isn't this scanner sharing with other Macs on the LAN?

Thanks,
Dave

Using Chicken (2.2b2) to connect to an iMac running 10.8.4 fails and asks for the password again.

I can walk to this iMac and enter this password and confirm that it is correct.

Any idea why this isn't working?

I can connect to another iMac (running 10.6.8) using this same copy of Chicken and it works with no issues.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Dave
