Did you verify that you have properly set up all of your email accounts? Possibly by sending from one to the others? Did you check the Junk folder?
Give us an example of the coding. We're not mind readers, and can not see you Mac from here.

I have iTunes 11.0.4 (4) on my iMac. The layout is odd. It's all black and white and I don't know how to change it. I've checked the prefs and don't see anyplace to modify it. When in the screen for the iPad setup and backup, it even appears that some of the lettering is 3d of a sort. Any help?
Thanks

No, they booted, and you often didn't realize it was dead until you noticed the time and date was incorrect.

How did you come to the conclusion that they were going to disable your new modem from their end? I don't see the leap in thinking here.
If they said that was what they were going to do, did they give you specific reasons why, such as security reasons?

I brought back my non-user-configurable Comcast-throttled Internet Gateway this afternoon and made it claer to the reps that I'd done so because I didn't have access to the web configuration utility embedded in the retail versions, planning to continue using my previous Comcast DOCSIS 2 modem until the new (not crippled by Comcast) cable modem I just purchased on amazon arrived.
About an hour after I came home later this afternoon, I suddenly lost internet connectivity. First clue what had happened? I didn't change any setup to make this happen. Still, since I'd changed routers, I didn't trust my instincts that I'd not caused this, so tried putting my old Airport Extreme back in service, rebooted the router and cable modem multiple times, made use of Aiport Utility and Network Preferences as diagnostic tools, but couldn't reestablish connectivity.
After Comcast dropped one call to 1-800-comcast and didn't call back despite asking for my phone number for just that purpose, then waiting on hold for 30 minutes for another support technician, they told me that I'd lost connectivity because I had a "new" modem that had to be "activated" by them (translation: they'd disabled my modem from their end! The tech had the audacity to end the call with "you have a wonderful evening."

Sorry, I may have been less than clear.
What happened was that when I realized the new modem + router couldn't have its routing and NAT functions disabled (at least not by me), I never attempted to connect it to the internet, but instead returned it to Comcast. Comcast has some way of "activating&qu
What they did was deactivate the DOCSIS 2 modem that I'd never disconnected from the internet. When they did, my internet connection failed. Because I'd just installed a new Apple Airport and had struggled with other connectivity issues recently, I was confused enough to think I might have done something wrong to cause this (even thought the failure happened abruptly several hours after I returned the Gateway device to Comcast.
The support tech with whom I spoke in the series of calls I made to them to correct this basically admitted they had deactivated the connection of that modem to their servers, although she was quite oblique in saying so, stating that my "new" modem required reactivation. I reminded her that I'd RETURNED the new Gateway to them without ever exposing it to the internet, and that they had actually (mistakenly) deactivated my OLD modem.
My retail DOCSIS 3 modem arrived today. Comcast managed to mess up that process a bit as well, but I did get my internet and phone service attached to the new device after 4 phone calls. the last support tech to whom I spoke was a breath of fresh air. She explained to me what was happening as she activated my (non-Comcast) modem (although before I could connect to the internet through it, Comcast pushed firmware to it. My speednet.com download speed has jumped from 26-28 Mbps to 56. Upload speed increased as well, but only by about 10%.

Jim,
ISPs have been requiring to know the MAC ID of modems for many, many years. They usually only ask when you change modems. That is how they control that you can only have service at one location per account.
The pushed firmware may be to include proprietary features.
I'm glad you are back up and running, at faster speeds. Hopefully your WiFi slowdowns are gone, also.

Howdy.
Gossip? Laurene Powell Jobs (widow of Steve Jobs) and Adrien Fenty (former mayor of Washington, D.C.) are rumored to be involved in a budding romance.
The two met at an educational reform conference. I knew that Jobs and wife were involved in a number of charities and contributed money and time - very quietly - and Fenty was a major force in reforming the terrible Washington D.C, public school system so it seems to fit.
Something for a slow Friday news and posting day.

News flash! Steve Jobs is dead.
He probably did consider it. As a good CEO he should consider all options. Apparently he did not think it was an appropriate move at the time. He can not change his mind now, even if the circumstances have changed.
And since he is not alive, he can not refute it.

The Mac (10.6.8) can access the local Time Capsule via WiFi. It backed up apparently OK.
But a couple of strange things:
1. The TM Preferences say
Latest backup: Today, 7:28 pm
Next backup: Today, 9:15 pm
Is there any condition under which TM will back up files on other than an hourly schedule? (The Macs that back up to this TC are usually idle.)
There is only one other Mac that uses this Time Capsule for backup.
2. The "Available" line in TM Preferences has no data, only "----".
What's up with this?
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, there is a condition where TM can back up on other than an hourly schedule. I use Time Machine Editor to change the schedule to once a week. I am assuming that it uses some line commands to adjust it. I assume there are other ways to change the schedule.
Available -- means the HD that Time Machine uses is off line or not available.
