It's interesting for 15+ years I depended upon Disk Warrior, but within the last two plus years I've never needed a repair that Disk Utility has not been able to correct. The latest system software from Apple is (in my experience only) repair free, or at least compared to the repairs the old systems required.

Still do occasional iDefrag+optimization, like last night after adding a ton of tv and movie files to the hd.

Since many of us may soon be contemplating these products, could you tell us your thoughts about their applicability at this stage of development of the MacOS, about their usefulness, about who should consider buying them, if anyone....

That's what seems to be most user's general experience. Rarely, someone will run DU and it will report that it can't fix something, and in that instance DW can usually fix things. But that doesn't happen often enough to warrant paying $100 for a copy of Disk Warrior just on spec.

Two interesting notes. First is that you can get a huge brand new hard drive for that same $100. It might be a better deal. Second, DW has to be run from a startup disk. But many new Macs don't come with optical drives. If you have a Mac that doesn't have an optical drive and you want to purchase DW, it's best to purchase it as a download and put it on an external boot drive or a bootable USB flash drive.

My husband inadvertently linked his old apple ID to my account. We can't figure out how to delete it.
Does anyone know how? We can go in and edit things but delete is not an option.

Any help on this one?

Thanks!
