Photography on the iPhone is becoming even more popular, and for many amateur shutterbugs, it has replaced the standalone digital camera for everyday use. But as more and more photos are taken, people are increasingly looking for simple ways to enhance their pictures in fresh and exciting ways.
Smoosh is designed to help photographers make the pictures they take uniquely their own. The app was inspired by Polaroid SX-70 time zero film manipulation, a process that used various tools to distort the film's soft emulsion into a beautiful new look.
In Smoosh, photographers can use the sliders to adjust tool size and fluidity: warmer temperatures allow for more pixel movement. Then, they can drag their finger anywhere on the photo to apply as little or as much of the effect as they like.
With the "undo" and "redo" features, users are free to experiment with the many ways they can add life to their pictures. Completed photos can be quickly shared with friends by email, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or Flickr.
