On the PC/Mac, iTunes stores movies under iTunes > iTunes Media > Movies.
As Jim said, they get copied ("synced") to your iPhone according to the
sync settings in iTunes. These settings are accessible only when the phone
is connected to your computer. Depending on your settings and the amount of
space on the iPhone, the 2 lists might be identical or very different.

I upgraded my iPhone 4S, iPod & iPad2 on Wednesday with no problems. I also downloaded the new iPhoto app and like that a lot.

I did a Wi-Fi upgrade of my two 3Gs phones. The download phase seemed to be
sitting, doing nothing for quite a long time, but it did complete and I
have not had problems with either phone.

Thanks, Jon, and to those that responded about the 3GS.
Last night, I did the update though iTunes and it claimed to be a 37 minute process, and it took nearly that long. This morning I did the Numbers upgrade by WiFi and it was a 190 MB download and so took what seemed like below 10 minutes.
I guess when you are just sitting waiting for a direct upgrade to the iPhone it seems longer than when sitting at your Mac and you are able to be distracted by doing other things.

What I don't understand is why an iOS upgrade does not allow pause during download just like downloading apps. Everytime some connection slowdowns occur, you go back to zero! What gives?

That way you don't get a broken or messed up file to install.

Well, I thought of that too but if it can be done with apps, why not with an OS update? RIM was able to do that with their PlayBook OS updates. I don't see why Apple can't.
Anyway, sorry about not starting a new thread. It was in reply to the posts within this thread on downloading OS update. It will be awkward to reply on a new thread to a post on a different one. Any open discussion is bound to branch out to other related topics.
Now, to get us back on track... What was the issue again?
Oh, here it is verbatim, N.A. Nada <whodo678@comcast.net > wrote:

Probably because everyone's having a hard time with the download... Which leads me again to my previous question... Why not make downloads easier by allowing pause and continue instead of always going back to zero?
Well, it's on track after all! In fact, it's a direct reply to the original post!

Archie, I'm not trying to single you out, several others have dragged this thread all over kingdom come, as is often done with other threads.
I apologize up front for being grumpy, and I know I am occasionally guilty of stealing a thread or going off on a tangent, myself. I realize they often branch out, but it would be nice if they first answer the OP's question.
I am the OP. The subject states 5.1 and 3GS. The body says I have see no post about 5.1 and the 3GS.
I don't know how much clearer I can describe what I wish to learn, and how narrow is my area of interest. If others wish to learn about other areas, they are free to start a new thread.

I looked the evening after the Keynote, but could not find the PDF version, only iBooks & Safari versions. The later two being a pain to read on an iPhone.
I wish Apple would release a Mac version of iBooks, since an iPad will be beyond my budget for the foreseeable future.

In 2009, the ITU-R organization specified the IMT-Advanced requirements for 4G standards, setting peak speed requirements for 4G service at 100 Mbit/s for high mobility communication (such as from trains and cars) and 1 Gbit/s for low mobility communication (such as pedestrians and stationary users).
Nobody in the USA (I don't know about international) is getting true 4G speeds from cellular technology at this time.

No, they demonstrated that it can receive faster downloads than 3G HSPA. AT&T is only now releasing LTE in NYC, only.
I believe the current Apple campus has both an AT&T and Verizon cell tower for testing, and may have the new LTE for testing. I assume if the demonstration was done live, that they both provided temporary LTE cells at the Keynote.
I'm sure they had to bring in additional equipment just to handle the extra load from all the reporters at the presentation. Like they do for an event like an Olympic venue or disaster like a tornado.

And, to the best of my knowledge, no cell phones are presently capable of "talking" IMT-Advanced.

"A bit slow" is a relative term. How many minutes did it take? Have you considered how many others may have been doing the same thing and that they might have been slowing the servers down?
Last night, when I upgraded my 3GS to iOS 5.1 via iTunes, it claimed that it would take 37 minutes. After probably just under 30 minutes, the iPhone had restarted and was ready to go.
How does my experience compare to yours?

Album Art missing on iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1, iTunes 10.6

I thought iOS 5.1 would fix my missing Album Art but alas, all Album covers still, as always, appear in iTunes but not on iPhone 4S. There are a few Album covers on iPhone, but not many.
I was told to uninstall iTunes from desktop and reinstall but I've had such negative experiences dealing with iTunes, I'm afraid to do this.
Any ideas to help me get Album Art onto new iPhone?

Have you tried turning your iPhone 90 degrees?

An app is generally a whole lot smaller and a whole lot less critical to operating your device. If the OS is corrupted, you are likely to have bricked your device.
I have used Speed Download, in the past to download large applications and app updates for the Mac. I have never used it for an OS update, but if a download is interrupted SD partitions the download and restarts from the last partition. It then reassembles them. I don't know if it does a checksum or other verification of the resulting reassembled download. BTW, how many apps or app upgrades have you seen verify themselves before installation?
I have not looked for or heard of an application similar to Speed Download for the iOS.
Also, look at where RIM is currently, and look at where Apple is currently. Which is currently successful and which business model would you like to follow?
Where were you, and what were the conditions when you had a connection slowdown?

Mail fails under IOS 5.1

Up until a few days ago, my iPhone 4S had iOS 5.0.1 and I was getting
lots of email. Now after doing the IOS 5.1 upgrade I get very little
mail. While on my iMac G5 I get lots of email. So I suspect the iOS
5.1 upgrade has an email bug. Any one else notice this behavior? The
same thing goes for email on my iPad 1. Commentary, please.
