syncing iPad to iTunes on PC - sort of!

Hi,
I sent an inquiry about this the other day, but no response yet. Maybe I
didn't word it very well so I'll give it another shot. :-)
Does anyone know how to get a CD that was ripped into iTunes on a PC to an
iPad, without syncing the whole library on the iPad? I have iTunes set to
Manual, but I have been unable to figure out how to manually get this to
happen! When I sync the two devices, music I have downloaded to the iPad
shows up in iTunes on the PC. I don't want that to happen in reverse
because of the limited space on the iPad.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gary

Plug your iPad into your computer and sync. While it's still connected go
to your PC's copy of iTunes and open your iPad's page. Click on the music
tab and uncheck the "Sync entire music library" button, then click "APPLY".
Now, to prune your iPad's library, check the "Selected playlists, artists,
albums and genres" button. Then go to the checklists below and make any
changes you want, ONLY items with a check next to them will end up on/stay
on your iPad. When you're finished hit the 'APPLY" button.

Hi Gary,
I think you need to make a smart playlist that will put the music you want
on your device then sync it.
That would be
File
New smart play list
in itunes.

Michelle,
That sounds good. Having all the stuff you want to sync to the iPad in one playlist makes sense. I havenât used a âsmartâ playlist but Iâll check it out.
Thanks a lot,
Gary
