How to use Ultrasn0w Fixer to unlock your A4 device on iOS 5.1 Posted: 13 Mar 2012 04:30 PM PDT When Apple released iOS 5.1 last week, the update didn’t just break the previous jailbreaks. Posted: 13 Mar 2012 03:26 PM PDT My go-to camera, Camera+, has been updated to version 3 today. Among the new features that were added, the most notable ones are:
The app is currently on sale for only $0.99, so it might be the right time to buy it. For a full review of version 3, I suggest you read Frederico Viticci’s review on MacStories. And speaking of cameras, we have something really neat coming up on iDB for all the iPhoneography fans out there. That’s all I can say for the time being. Sn0wBreeze updated with bug fixes and Apple TV support Posted: 13 Mar 2012 03:11 PM PDT A few days ago, iH8sn0w released v2.9.2 of his popular jailbreak tool, Sn0wBreeze. The update added the ability for users to jailbreak their iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 (yes, it’s still tethered). Then last night, the hacker seeded another version of the software, bringing it to v2.9.3. This update includes a minor bug fix, but also features new jailbreak support for Apple TV’s on iOS 4.4.3 and 4.4.4…(...) Apple subpoenaed by the FTC regarding its search engine deal with Google Posted: 13 Mar 2012 01:30 PM PDT So this is pretty interesting: AllThingsD is reporting that Apple has been subpoenaed by the Federal Trade Commission as part of an ongoing anti-trust investigation into Google’s business practices. It seems the FTC is particularly interested in the agreement Google made with Apple to become the default search engine in iOS. The deal, which we talked about a few days ago, is rumored to be worth more than a billion dollars… (...) Samsung official says iPad Mini to feature Samsung display Posted: 13 Mar 2012 12:37 PM PDT The iPad Mini has been in the rumor mill for quite a while, and we’ve heard some pretty interesting things about the 7-inch tablet. Yesterday, a report was published saying the smaller version of the iPad will feature a slim bezel display that may allow for a larger viewing area. Today we got word that Samsung is the exclusive supplier of the Retina display for the third-generation iPad. We’re also hearing out of the Korea Times, that a Samsung official told the publication that Apple will release a 7.85-inch iPad by the end of the year, using Samsung’s displays…(...) Epic and EA believe the iPad could be the future of game consoles Posted: 13 Mar 2012 11:55 AM PDT Apple may not come out and say “hey, we’re really interested in gaming,” but I think we all know what its intentions are. You don’t have to look past the company’s last two product announcements to see that it has major plans for the gaming industry. And that’s never been more apparent than with the new iPad. With a quad-core graphics processor, Retina display, and Bluetooth 4.0, Apple’s tablet is one well-designed controller away from being a full-blown console. And game-makers are starting to take notice…(...) "Epic and EA believe the iPad could be the future of game consoles" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. Ironically, the new iPad Retina display is made by Samsung Posted: 13 Mar 2012 11:14 AM PDT In the months leading up to the unveiling of the new iPad, the rumor mill seemed pretty confident that the tablet would be getting a high resolution Retina display. But we weren’t quite sure who was going to be making them. There was a lot of speculation regarding Sharp as a possible manufacturer. And the same with LG. But according to a new report from Bloomberg, the sole display-maker for the new iPad has been none other than Samsung…(...)
