iPhone Dev Team member, MuscleNerd, just tweeted that Apple is currently working on fixing their activation servers. This means that sooner or later the SAM unlock will no longer work for your jailbroken iPhone. The good news is that if you backed up your activation ticket like we instructed in our tutorial, your current unlock should be safe for good.(...) Twitter has just announced that it has pushed a new version of Twitter for iPhone to the App Store. The app entails a number of updates including an improved Discover tab and more functionality for its push notification feature. The Twitter app has received a lot of criticism over the redesign it received back in December of last year. In fact, a lot of folks left it for other third-party clients. If you remember my Sparrow review, I said it was a great app that was marred by a few missing features — namely: push notification capability, and the ability to make Sparrow the default Mail app. In due time the folks at Sparrow will undoubtedly solve the push notification issue, and a few enterprising iOS jailbreak devs have already taken the liberty on that issue as well. One feature that’s not so easy to implement is making Sparrow iOS’ default mail client. In fact, unless Apple does a virtual 180 on its current stance, this will never be a feature of Sparrow, or any other 3rd party Email app for that matter. The only hope to implement such functionality rests with the jailbreak community. In fact, I reached out to iOS developer Majd Alfhaily yesterday, and he graciously accepted my request for such a feature in his upcoming jailbreak tweak coined: Sparrow+. Want to see it in action? The NPD, a consumer market research firm, is out with a new report today regarding its recent Apple Ecosystem Study. The firm asked more than 3,000 consumers, of balanced demographics, on whether or not they owned Apple products. And if so, which ones. As usual, the results are pretty interesting. The study found that one-in-five Apple owner households owns at least one iPad. But current Apple owners aren’t the only people that are being drawn to the new tablet: one-in-four iPad buyers are first-time Apple buyers…(...) Pod2g has just put up quite the interesting poll on his personal blog. The infamous hacker, who is responsible for a majority of the recent exploits found in iOS, is asking folks to vote on the following question: “Shall we hold off the jailbreak for iOS 6?” The question comes just a few days after we heard that hackers were finally making some progress on the iOS 5.1 jailbreak. Of course, if it’s released before iOS 6 comes out, the exploits will almost certainly be patched up in the new software…(...) Not content with referring to Apple’s (and potentially its own) customers as the iSheep, South Korea-based Samsung has apparently staged a ‘spontaneous’ flash mob-style protest at an Apple store. I ain’t kidding. The video, included right below, depicts a crowd of people conveniently clad in black, wielding douchebag ‘Wake Up’ signs outside Apple’s retail outlet in Sydney, Australia…(...) Here’s something pretty cool (or should I say, ‘magical’): a website that streams live television from anywhere in the world, right to your Apple mobile device, using an iOS-friendly MP4 video format via the AirPlay protocol. You just pull up the webpage using the Safari browser on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, pick one of the listed countries and up pop live television channels airing in the selected territory. From here, tap the channel of your choice and live television content begins streaming, licensing restrictions be damned. In case you were wondering: yes, they have the XXX section covered as well. It’s a hack, no question about it, so expect either Apple or broadcasters (or both) to restrict or even take down the site as we speak…(...)
