Just log in with the shared iTunes account on your iPad. Go to iTunes store and select the books again. It should show that it was already purchased and you can download again.

Michael,
I presume the video is on your iMac? (We're not talking about getting
a video off of a video camera onto your iMac, are we?)

If the file is already on your iMac, as suggested by others, Dropbox
is a good way to share files:

<https://www.dropbox.com/install>

Download the installer and follow the instructions to install it on your iMac.

The standard storage space that comes with a Dropbox installation is
2 GB. If your video file is larger than this, there are some ways to
increase your storage:

<http://maxyourdropbox.blogspot.com/>

Using is pretty straightforward: place the video in your Dropbox
folder. Copy the link (URL) of that file, and send that link to your
friends. They can download the file from your iMac and then, after
it's downloaded, watch it at their leisure. (Tell your friends to
copy it from your Dropbox folder, not to try watching it right away;
it may not be possible until they download it completely.)

Enjoy!

A suggestion: don't use ALL CAPS in your subject line. It's commonly
considered to be the equivalent of yelling, and bad form.

Cheers,
Dave

You don't mention what you want to move it TO. If it's another computer, a thumb drive would probably do it quite efficiently.

That doesn't answer the question. Are you trying to transfer it to an iPhone? To another computer? To a TV?

I have a couple of Suoersonic Magnum "Patriot" 64 GB thumb drives. I can get several full length movies and some hour long tv shows on one of these little drives. So easy to move stuff around from one computer to another. I think I paid just under $100. At Newegg. Very fast too which I wanted.

Anyon into pico in terminal?

i'm writing a little script in pico, vey little. Two things failed: $user did not produce any user name when script. And CTRL X failed to exit the script. I just closed terminal and reopened it. Also to run the script the book, 'unis for Mac, Visual book, said type 'source'.
That takes longer than running the commands. :-)

I check out current books from the public library. I usually get them on CD
and then load them into iTunes and sync to my iPhone. When I am done
listening to a book I delete it from the iPhone and iTunes.

Like Gijzette said the library is a good place for cheap books, unfortunately they are usually not the latest and greatest hot books. Overdrive is what many libraries use to loan books out.

I have a library of about 600 audio books, mostly from Audible, but with my current budget, I am checking out a lot of audio books from the public library.

Audible has a pre-paid plan where you can purchase 24 credits that brings the cost to below $10 a credit. Most books can be purchased for 1 credit, although I have seen tombs for 2 or 3 credits. It is the best deal I have seen for new books. There are some books that are not available there like Harry Potter.

BTW, Audible is owned by Amazon, and Apple apparently private labels the service from Amazon. Do check the pricing as occasionally Amazon does beat Audible or refers you back to Audible.

sounds ominous. i got my check for nearly 5 grand on sat. from buying 2 shares in 1996.
i think it might have to do with Tim Cook's promising to do something for the shareholders,
as apple had $98,000,000,000 in the bank.

so sorry. couldn't resist. i was originally, and still am trying to show Tim Cook's rather cool
administrative side, just like when i wrote about him changing China's policies in regards
to working hours for the workers.

of course, those of you who responded miss the point entirely.

The point that he wants to dictate to another country how they run their economic system.

And minimising the hours is only make the workers he is "saving" worse off and unhappy.

We have, occasionally, 'thrown in' little tidbits about Apple as a
company and tech in general, as Denver Dan (holiday now), can attest to.

I don't see harm in it as long as it doens't lead to a thread such as
this, and one that goes on and on and on.

I unchecked that as soon as I found out about it, a few weeks ago. So my applications don't open with my work-in-progress at its last state.

However, I still find that certain applications still open upon restart. Weirdly, it's not the applications I had been using before I shut down or restarted. A slightly random factor seems to be functioning. But at least 2 or 3 applications (not necessarily ones I have used lately) come up when I restart, not set to anything I had been doing earlier, just starting the applications.

So then I learned that I have to uncheck the option to "Reopen windows when logging back in" that is offered in the Restart or Shutdown dialog. If I remember to do that, then I don't get these random applications starting up after restart.

But I would sure love to know how to make Unchecked the default for that option in the Shutdown window!

If the app was open and not quit, before you shut down or restarted, the app will reopen. You don't need to have any windows open in the app, it just has to not be quit.

I think someone posted a Terminal command in this thread to change the default.

It isn't a Trojan, it is another "drive-by download" like the last
version of Flashback.

Since this new one infects your Mac exactly the same way as Flashback
(i.e. via Java), if you did what was necessary to protect yourself
from Flashback (e.g. turn off Java), then you are already protected.
If you are running Snow Leopard or Lion, Apple's Java update should
protect you.

Also, I think that folks should have a big dose of skepticism with
regard to hyperbolic statements coming out of Kaspersky Labs unless
they are corroborated by a U.S. malware tracking entity that is well
respected.
