Remoter Labs today announces Remoter VNC 3.4.2 for iOS, an update to their productivity app that allows users to remotely control Macs via Screen Sharing, and Windows or Linux PCs using the VNC or RDP standards right from their iOS devices. The app uses Bonjour to make setup a cinch, and also features a novel "virtual trackpad" to precisely control of the mouse cursor. Sound redirection, RDP, Telnet and SSH which also allows for secure VNC/RDP over SSH, are available as in-app purchases.

Vestal, New York - Remoter Labs today is pleased to announce the release of Remoter VNC 3.4.2 for iPhone and iPad, an update to version 3.4 of their productivity app that enables users to remotely control Macs via Screen Sharing, and Windows or Linux computers using the VNC or RDP standards right from their iOS devices, and with full external keyboard support. The app uses Bonjour and NetBIOS to make setup a cinch, and it features a novel and highly praised "virtual trackpad" that allows to control the mouse cursor intuitively. RemoterFusion, which provides sound redirection and easy setup, RDP, Telnet and SSH support are available as in-app purchases.

Full support for external keyboards was added in version 3.4 of the app, and with this update, some issues with it have been corrected. Retina level artwork and support was also added with this update, and now the app is 100% compatible with the new iPad. These changes make Remoter the best and most complete remote desktop app in the App Store.

The app offers one of the fastest implementations of the VNC and RDP protocols on the iOS platform. Operation is intuitive, with a well thought out interface that allows users to either tap on the screen and have taps converted into clicks on the remote system, or use a unique "virtual trackpad" that gives users precise control, and ease of use. A drag or stylus mode on the iPad version is also provided, which gives users the ability of easily dragging items, or drawing on their computers directly from their iPad just by using their fingers or a stylus.

On Macs, setup is now ultra-simple with the RemoterFusion add-on. Port-forwarding and/or dynamic DNS is no longer needed in order to establish connections from outside the computer's network. This add-on also provides sound redirection, which allows listening to music tracks, or any sound playing remotely on the computer from the iOS device. RemoterFusion can be tested for free for 24 hours.

Otherwise, local session set-up is still simple, all the computers from the WiFi network are found using both the Bonjour and NetBIOS standards. The user then taps on the desired connection, and all queried information such as computer name, IP address, service port, and more auto-populates the set-up screen. The user then only needs to enter the VNC password to complete setup. A button labeled "Advanced" reveals many useful advanced options, like color depth, server scaling setting, compression level and more.

The new RDP add-on allows connecting to Windows computers that include an RDP server (Remote Desktop Protocol). This allows connecting to these machines without having to install a server, as is the case with VNC.

Via the SSH add-on, the app allows users to establish secure and tunneled VNC, or RDP if the RDP add-on is also used, connections to their computer desktop. This add-on also gives users the ability of establishing terminal connections to any SSH server. Featuring full terminal control, including special keys such as Control, Alt, F1-F14. Terminal support implements font foreground and background color, a terminal buffer, and clicking. SSH authentication includes both passwords and private/public key support. A fully featured SSH Key manager allows users to create SSH keys using RSA or DSA. Passphrases can also be set, and independent SSH keys can be used for each SSH session.

The SSH add-on also gives users the ability of create up to five TCP tunnels. The tunnels can then be accessed while the app is in the background by any other app on the iOS device. Providing a VPN connection to the SSH server. Background connections can stay active for a full ten minutes.

The Telnet add-on enables users to connect to server computers using the Telnet protocol. Like with SSH, the app provides full color support, a terminal buffer, and special keys.

Both the SSH and Telnet add-ons allow for selection of text which is then synchronized with the device's pasteboard, and can then be pasted within the application, or into any other app.

The app features a connection selection interface that is controlled by swiping on the iOS device to graphically select the desired connection. For professional users that have many connections, a "Session Selection" screen is also available. This option presents a list view of all available connections. Sessions can be sorted by name, type or usage.

Wake-on-LAN support is also built-in, when the server session is setup using Bonjour or NetBIOS, the MAC address is automatically populated. Otherwise the field is provided to allow the user to populate it manually. Wake-on-LAN can then be sent either from the main screen of the app, or via the session selection screen.

Macros can also be created and run. Macro support is included for VNC, RDP, SSH and Telnet sessions, and a Macros manager allows for renaming and deleting of existing macros.

The app is extremely configurable, in the "Remoter Config" screen users can select from a variety of options to best suit their needs. Options such as trackpad type and acceleration, visual clicks, international keyboard support for OS X are included.

While connected to a server, the app supports both landscape and portrait mode, full-screen mode, different pre-set zoom levels, along with a smooth pinch-to-zoom interface. Pasteboard synchronization is also supported for all connection modes. Full external keyboard support, either USB or Bluetooth is also provided.

In the casual game "Planet Pete" the turtle puts on his diving mask - which is quite sufficient to be protected against the dangers lurking in space - and off it goes for some fun in the universe.

The Arcade Mode of the new iPhone game is perfect for getting familiar with the unique controls of the space turtle. By the way, right after the start the turtle is immediately being captured in the vacuum of the space gravity field of a planet. Now Pete is circling around the planet, going faster and faster.

By simply tapping on the screen, the player uses the momentum, in order to let Pete lift off the planet. Right away he whizzes through space in a targeted manner and collects lots of stars to accumulate points, until the gravity of another planet strikes again and captures Pete. In this manner he is being thrown from one celestial body to another. If his movement is smooth and he performs a really soft landing on one of the targeted planets, the turtle gains more and more speed with each jump - until the lightspeed mode is being activated, which turns on a score multiplier.

In the Arcade Mode the player has only two minutes to score. A difficult task, since several obstacles and all kinds of electrical barriers, that are floating around in space, will complicate Pete's life. The goal is to beat one's own high score again and again and also to compete against other players worldwide.

Planet Pete: Campaign-Modus features 72 levels in 2 worlds. Even more variety is provided in the separate campaign mode. The two game worlds "Outer Space" and "Dimension X" feature 72 levels. In the future additional worlds will be available via updates.

In each level Pete has to solve a specific task. Sometimes he has to rescue little turtles, while at other times he has to give nasty aliens a good kick in the butt. The degree of difficulty increases with each level. More and more laser barriers, resisting aliens, various traps and other adversities are threatening Pete's life - not to mention that the aliens would really like to turn Pete into delicious turtle soup. Occasionally special items, such as keycards, have to be collected in order to eliminate annoying energy grids. It's a good thing Pete is able to use power-ups every so often in order to hold his own on the course.

With an ultra-sleek , contoured design, Stealth is a Touch Mouse that lets you access and interact with Web content from a PC or Mac with a simple tap or swipe of your finger...no clicking, no scroll wheel, no buttons.

The first two things you will notice about the Stealth are its graceful, slipper shaped body and elegant SilkTouch coating. The body of the Stealth is ergonomically engineered to eliminate wrist strain and position your fingers for optimal use while surfing the Web, checking Facebook or just about anything else. Meanwhile, the SilkTouch coating gives the Stealth a very sophisticated, upscale look and lets your fingers to slide gently along the mouse's curved surface.

Simplicity was our goal in designing the Stealth, and that meant eliminating all buttons and mechanical controls. The front control area of the Stealth is set-up to allow completely intuitive Web browsing, and an experience much more akin to using a tablet or smartphone than a traditional mouse. Left click and right click functions are still there, but is accomplished with a delicate tap of your finger, as opposed to a noisy, heavy-handed "click". A simple slide your finger over the center of the the Stealth results in smooth, super-responsive scrolling of Web pages and other online content. The high-resolution laser detects even the subtlest of hand movements for precision control, and specially coated feet allow the mouse to glide almost frictionlessly across your desktop or mouse pad. All this adds up to a mouse whose functionality is as simple and unique as it looks.

According to Dave Sousa, Global Brand Manager for Manhattan, "With Stealth , we wanted people to experience a whole new way to surf the web from their computer. So, we boiled the standard mouse down to its barest essentials, and then introduced bleeding-edge Curve-Touch technology that gives the user completely intuitive controls more like a tablet or smartphone than an old computer mouse."

The process resulted in a graceful, ergonomically shaped device optimized for everyday use - whether it be surfing the Web, checking Facebook or just about anything else. The front control area of the Stealth is set-up to allow left click and right click functionality, but with a delicate, noiseless tap of the finger, as opposed to a "click". Scrolling is accomplished with a simple swipe of the finger over the center of the Stealth. Meanwhile, the matte black SilkTouch coating gives the Stealth a very sophisticated, upscale look and allows the user's fingers to slide gently along the curved surface.

Outside of the fact that it is the only Touch Mouse on the market with absolutely no moving parts or mechanical controls, the Stealth is also unique in that it can also function as a wireless presenter up to 10-meters (33-feet) from its connected computer. Page transitions are controlled with a mere left-right swipe of the thumb, and when placed back on a solid surface, the Stealth transitions back to its regular operating mode.

It comes with a wireless 2.4GHz nano USB transceiver for connecting to your computer and requires two AAA batteries for operation. Cargo-Bot was programmed entirely on iPad using Codea, a touch-based programming app for iPad created by Two Lives Left. It's the first game of its kind, prototyped, programmed and polished on iPad.

Adelaide, Australia - Two Lives Left and Rui Viana have released Cargo-Bot, a puzzle game where the player commands a robot to sort crates. Cargo-Bot presents players with fiendishly clever puzzles and features stunning retina graphics. It is available for free on the App Store.

Cargo-Bot was programmed entirely on iPad using Codea, a touch-based programming app for iPad created by Two Lives Left.

It's the first game of its kind, prototyped, programmed and polished on iPad. Cargo-Bot was created by Rui Viana, a Codea user who developed his initial prototype and shared it with the Codea community. Two Lives Left reached out to Rui in order to turn his prototype into a published App Store game. They also enlisted the aid of Fred Bogg, a composer who developed a music library for Codea, to create the music for Cargo-Bot.

Coinciding with the release of Cargo-Bot, Two Lives Left is releasing the Codea Runtime Library source code under the Apache License Version 2.0. Registered Apple iOS Developers will be able to export their Codea projects into the Codea Runtime Library in order to release them as standalone apps, just like Cargo-Bot.

The app, according to El Kaissi, also has an additional feature that allows users to manage contacts into groups with a visual pie chart that shows the address book partition.

"All it takes is one touch to clean contacts, fix contacts synced from different sources," EL Kaissi said. "Our new website provides those who logon to our website with a quick and easy way to download this app and get answers to any questions they may have about it and everything else in between."
