Choosing from seven characters and seven battle settings, players battle with kicks, punches, jumps, and specialized moves like cuts, tears, and dissolves, to defeat opponents. Much more than a simple push button fighter, Cutout Fighter players have special Paper Overdrive challenges, where they compete against the clock to employ specialized fighting moves.

Timed Paper Overdrives are divided into four categories according to the type of damage they inflict: Cut, Tear, Dissolve, and Cremate. In Cut Paper Overdrives, players must accomplish tasks such as using finger swipes to trace slash lines and inflict damage on competitors. In Tear Paper Overdrives, player tasks include trying to beat the clock in tearing limbs from opponents using ropes and gears. In Dissolve Paper Overdrives, players complete timed tasks such as filling test tubes with the correct potion formula to dissolve an opponent. In the Cremate Paper Overdrive, players must construct a flamethrower before time runs out, to incinerate their opponent.

With over 1,500 hand-drawn images, an 8-bit music soundtrack, and more than 200 sound effects, Cutout Fighter is 2D gaming art. Cutout Fighter's cartoon characters feature animated paper effects and avoid the bloody animation of many 2D Fighter games. Jr. 1.1.0 for iOS, a major update to their highly successful matching Game for 2 - 8 preschoolers, where the pace of gameplay gets faster and faster until all players but the winner are eliminated. At the start of the game, each player chooses one of eight different colored shapes. During gameplay, the eight shapes are displayed randomly, and each player in turn must quickly tap on the screen when their chosen shape appears, with the last remaining player the winner.

An ideal game for preschool children and their families, BAM! Jr. starts off as great fun and builds to wild hysteria. With a group of preschool kids seated on the floor in a circle, the iDevice is in the center. At the start of a game, each player in the circle chooses one of the eight different shapes. When everyone has chosen a shape, touching Go begins the game.

Eight Different Shapes:
* Blue duck on a yellow background
* Green car on a magenta background
* Cyan bird on a red background
* White robot on a gray background
* Yellow flower on a blue background
* Magenta frog on a green background
* Red fish on a cyan background

Initially, each shape is displayed for a few seconds, making identification easy. The sound of an alarm clock being wound up is heard throughout the game, and at the start, it is being wound slowly. As the game continues, the winding sound effect remains at the same pitch, but the winding becomes progressively faster. As the rounds go by, the shapes are displayed faster and faster. The combination of the sound effects and visual flashing induces convulsive laughter in young children as they try desperately to keep up.

Fortunately, there is no penalty for tapping the screen when a shape that no one has chosen is displayed. Players are eliminated when they fail to tap on the screen fast enough when their shape is displayed. Relying on color matching, easier and faster, is a risky strategy, because the color combinations are reversed between the first four shapes and backgrounds and the last four shapes and backgrounds.

With 11 backgrounds and 3 icon sizes, the app is a complete contact solution, eliminating the need to open many different apps. FavesDial features Retina display support, auto-sync, and multiple info choices for each contact within each of the four services.

FavesDial instantly imports all data from the user's iOS Contacts app, including photos. New icons can also be set up manually, allowing the user to enter data on the virtual keyboard and import any photo or shoot a live picture. The first name of each contact appears beneath their photo icon. In the top two corners are blue icons for FaceTime and email, and in the bottom corners are green icons for phone call or text. This system, called SmartCorners, works perfectly, even with 16 icons to a page on a small iPhone screen. Those who wish to have each rounded corner, photo icon unadorned, can disable SmartCorners, which hides the four small corner icons and lets the user select one of the four services as a dedicated action for that icon.

The app has no limit on the number of contacts/icons, and offers automatic or manual sizing of contacts: 4, 9, or 16 per page. Each icon can be edited independently, and users can include more than one phone number listing per icon, offering multiple contact numbers. One of multiple numbers can be designated the preferred or default number, and multiple listings are available for email, FaceTime, and text services as well. Included are 11 different backgrounds, enabling the user to personalize their app, such as: brushed aluminum, sand dunes, wood floor, and grass.

Steampunk Holmes New Sherlock Holmes Book App Project Hits Kickstarter - Published on 04/24/12

Noble Beast, LLC has launched a Kickstarter project to create a transmedia interactive storytelling experience featuring an adaptation of a Sherlock Holmes story set in a steampunk universe. The ebook Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus by P.C. Martin is now available at Smashwords.com and this funding will be used to create the web app, print and iPad app versions of the story. New innovations in digital publishing will allow readers to engage with the story on a level previously unseen.

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Noble Beast, LLC has launched Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus, a mashup of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories and other classic 19th-century fiction set in a steampunk universe. The story is available now as an ebook and is in development for an interactive web app and iPad app as well as an illustrated print version. A two-week crowdfunding campaign to fund the book app has been launched on Kickstarter and will end May 3, 2012 at 3:42 p.m. EDT.

This is an international project with talent participating from the United States, Argentina and Great Britain. Artist Daniel Cortes of Buenos Aires has created fantastic animated artwork depicting characters, scenes, and steampunk devices. Music is provided by Seattle, Washington steampunk band Abney Park.

Richard Monson-Haefel, founder of Noble Beast, LLC, is producing the series. Author P.C. Martin has adapted the original Sherlock Holmes story and added a dash of Steampunk and Jules Verne. Steampunk is a genre of literature, art, and music based on the Victorian aesthetic and updated with steam-powered science fiction.

The future of publishing has arrived with this interactive multi-channel Sherlock Holmes project. Richard Monson-Haefel discusses his project: "What happens if you combine a movie with a book? You have the intimate connection that you can have with a book and you have the exciting visuals that can be produced with film...What I'm looking forward to is telling this story in a fashion that has never been done before."

The Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus app project is an example of new directions in publishing. When digital books are produced there is an opportunity to interact with the reader in a more engaging way. The Steampunk Holmes project uses the capabilities of digital media in new ways to enhance a great story. Young adult readers have particularly shown interest in cross-media manifestations of their favorite stories.

An in-app catalogue of steampunk merchandise from various vendors including music by Abney Park, clothes, and jewelry will be included in the app. Widowmakr, a street-ready motorcycle from the story, will be available from Solifague Design and Putsch Racing. A 360-degree view of the motorcycle will be available in the app catalogue.

The Steampunk Holmes Story:
In the Steampunk Holmes Universe, a new, more compact and powerful steam engine has been invented which powers everything from motorcycles to airships to great mechanical computers. The result is a mashup of Victorian culture and a technological revolution 100 years before its time.

The series starts in the year 1885, when Sherlock Holmes and his bionic biographer, Doctor Watson, are called in by Sherlock's sister, Mycroft Holmes, to help find the stolen plans of a very advanced submarine, the Nautilus, recovered from the watery grave of the most notorious terrorist of the British Empire, Captain Nemo. The mystery for Sherlock Holmes: Who has stolen the plans to the Nautilus and what will they do with them?

This is only the beginning of a series of adventures that will take Sherlock, Watson and Mycroft on a worldwide adventure. They encounter technological miracles, geniuses and mad men all of which are characters originally created by the early masters of speculative fiction: Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Mary Shelley.

The first installment of the series "Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus" is based on the original Arthur Conan Doyle story: "The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans" (c.1912). A super arc has been developed that will allow us to follow Holmes, Watson, and Mycroft on many adventures. The next story in the series will be "Steampunk Holmes: The Island of Dr. Monroe."

The adventures of Steampunk Holmes will be published as interactive books with optional audio narration, designs for super-steampunk devices (James Bond's got nothing on Holmes), and animated scenes for the iPad, web, and other platforms.
