Within Planet Boing there is also a Parents Center where parents have access to a personalized tracking system that shows the progress of each child in the various educational games from each of the apps in the i Learn With program.
* i Learn With Boing: Ice land adventures! HD features three adaptive, self-leveling literacy games that teach children about letters, phonics and spelling. While practicing phonics, children can even choose to play in a two-player mode for parent-child or peer-to-peer game play. * i Learn With Poko: Seasons and Weather! HD helps children 3 to 6 learn to identify different weather situations in various seasons and teach them appropriate clothing and activities. In the game, Poko tries to remember some of his favorite holidays by choosing pictures to place in his photo album. PocketCAS is a very advanced computer algebra system which turns an iPhone or iPod touch into a device capable of calculating complicated mathematical problems in just seconds. Apart from calculating symbolic derivatives and taylor series expansions as well as plotting cartesian and polar functions, PocketCAS computes symbolic integrals, simplifies expressions and does advanced linear algebra. A vast amount of more than 500 functions enable PocketCAS to solve almost every mathematical problem.
The integrated function plotter makes it easy to visualize formulas. Users can graph cartesian as well as polar functions without having to worry about plot settings. The list is combined with examples and syntax information for almost every available function.

Special care has been taken in order to make text input a breeze. When working with a CAS, there's a lot of different functions one might want to enter (PocketCAS is a lot more powerful than a regular scientific calculator). The iPhone's touchscreen is not very large and as much space as possible should be available for the calculations. PocketCAS therefore introduces a special mathematical keyboard with different sections. When tapping a function's key, it will be entered including braces, with the cursor in between. If text was selected prior to pressing a function key, the previously selected text will automatically be used as the argument for the entered function.
PocketCAS makes it easy to compose physical formulas. Built-in constants and physical units allow to enter formulas from a textbook without having to substitute constants manually. Entering large matrices by hand can be a huge pain. PocketCAS' visual matrix editor assists with this task.
PocketCAS is available in two different versions. For many uses, the free version PocketCAS lite may be sufficient. It serves as a great scientific calculator and allows to plot one function at a time. PocketCAS pro adds more sophisticated CAS functions like symbolic integration and advanced linear algebra and also plots multiple functions at once.

American Fork, Utah - TaleSpring announced today that 33 interactive ebooks for kids are now on sale for only 99 cents, and one more for free. For some books, this represents an 80% savings. TaleSpring is a self-publishing service that allows non-technical authors to create animated, interactive ebook apps for the iPad and iPhone. There is no software to download as all the tools are created in HTML5 and available directly in the web browser via TaleSpring's website.
Users create an account for free and proceed to upload their graphics and other media, laying out their pages with the easy to use drag and drop tools. Using the menus, authors can then animate their graphics, apply sound effects, and insert short video clips. Book apps can be created for free and even downloaded for viewing on the author's iPad or iPhone for testing. Once the book is ready for publishing, it is a one-time fee of $150 and the author receives a 50% royalty, paid monthly.
All books published and distributed through TaleSpring are from independent authors. Some are experienced authors who now have book app versions of their printed books, while others are aspiring first-time authors. Some are parents or grandparents who had previously written stories for their children and grandchildren and are turning those stories into interactive, animated book apps for those children to enjoy.
