Greater Self-Understanding for All Aspects of Life w/Life Inventory iPad - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Indie developer James Hollender today announces Life Inventory iPad 2.0, an update to his Lifestyle app that guides users in creating their own Moral Inventory, which can provide greater self-understanding of their personality, strengths, and weaknesses. While requiring a significant investment of time, the Inventory allows users to analyze their reactions to: People, Institutions and Organizations; Principles, Ideals and Beliefs; Sources of Anxiety and Excitement; Fears; and Sex Relations.

Revere, Massachusetts - Indie developer James Hollender today is pleased to announce Life Inventory iPad 2.0, an update to his Lifestyle app that guides users in creating their own Moral Inventory, which can provide greater self-understanding of their personality, strengths, and weaknesses. While requiring a significant investment of time, the Inventory allows users to analyze their reactions to: People, Institutions and Organizations; Principles, Ideals and Beliefs; Sources of Anxiety and Excitement; Fears; and Sex Relations. Originally designed for persons participating in 12-Step programs, it has since been discovered that a Moral Inventory can help anyone analyze their life to learn more about themselves than ever imagined possible ... and at only a small fraction the cost of a single visit to a therapist.

The process of completing a Life Inventory does not directly address anyone's specific problems or addictions, but rather helps the user examine in detail events that have transpired in their life. The Life Inventory iPad app gently assists the user in probing into not only what happened, but also why it happened. The questions asked help the user delve into areas often never considered before, like:

* What did I want?
* Why did I want it?
* What am I not admitting?
* What lie did I tell myself?
* What did I leave out or not say?
* What lie did I tell others?
* Have I ever done the same thing?
* Was it any of my business?
* Were my expectations reasonable?
* What was the real truth?
* What was I not seeing?
* Did I fail to see the facts of the situation?
* What actions did I take to get what I wanted?
* What actions did I omit to get what I wanted?

Life Inventory iPad guides the user through six different steps, each with its own tab, for making a Life Inventory in writing: Build Lists, Causes and Effects, My Part, Fears Analysis, Fear Questions, and Sex Relations. Throughout the process, users are encouraged to write out their Inventory, be completely honest about themselves, take advantage of encouragement and support, and pray each time they sit down to write their inventory.

The Inventory begins by making one simple list, which defines four fixed Categories in which to file away what are broadly categorized as Incidents: People, Institutions and Organizations; Principles, Ideals and Beliefs; and Sources of Anxiety and Excitement. Each of the four Categories will contain hierarchical sub-categories. From there, users will outline Entities and then individual Incidents.

Step-by-step, users complete the Causes and Effects of each Incident. Next, users determine the part they played in each Incident listed. It is not unusual to create hundreds of Incident forms, each devoted to a single incident. The app includes the ability to create and save all written lists and forms with password protection. Having completed all their Incident forms, users can refer to these forms to help list all their Fears. The app includes the following eight pre-defined fears, to which the user is free to add: other people's opinions, not getting what I want, not having control of the situation, financial insecurity, abandonment, physical harm, failure, and success.

The fifth step is examining each Fear category and answering the following key questions:
* Why did I have this fear?
* When did I first notice this fear in my life?
* How did I hold on to this fear?
* What did this fear make me do?
* What chain of circumstances did this fear set in motion in my life?
* How did I react to this fear?
* What decision did this fear cause me to make?
* How did self-reliance fail me?
* What should I have done instead?

And the sixth and final step is examining Sex Relations, where users answer all the following questions regarding each of their sexual relationships:
* How was I selfish?
* Where was I dishonest?
* Where was I inconsiderate?
* Who was hurt in this situation?
* Did I arouse jealousy, suspicion, or bitterness?
* Where was I at fault?
* What should I have done instead?
* What will I do in the future?
* Did I pray or have spiritual conversations with him/her?
* Did I pray for him/her?
* Did I enjoy his/her company?
* Did we bring each other closer to God?

"The process of completing a Life Inventory doesn't directly address anyone's specific problems or addictions, but rather helps the user examine in detail events that have transpired in their life," stated indie developer James Hollender. "The Life Inventory iPad app gently assists the user in probing into not only what happened, but also why it happened."

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS 4.3 or later (iOS 5 tested)
* 10.1 MB

Similar versions are also available for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Pricing and Availability:
Life Inventory iPad 2.0 is $9.99 (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Lifestyle category. A Lite version of the app is $1.99, a supplement that provides a mock Moral Inventory from which the user can learn by example and experimentation. Review copies are available on request.

Distal Industries introduces CurfewAlert 1.0 - Teenagers Smart Alarm - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Texas based Distal Industries, LLC today introduces CurfewAlert 1.0, its latest smart alarm utility for iOS devices. CurfewAlert lets teenagers know when to leave to make it home on time for curfew. Users enter their home address and curfew time. The app automatically determines how long it will take to drive home from wherever they are fires an alarm notifying them when its time to leave. The app continually calculates the driving distance from the user's current location to their home address.

Houston, Texas - Distal Industries, LLC today is please to announce the release of its latest iPhone application, CurfewAlert. The app is a smart alarm that lets teenagers know when to leave to make it home on time for curfew. Users enter their home address and curfew time. The app automatically determines how long it will take to drive home from wherever they are fires an alarm notifying them when its time to leave.

"I can't tell you how many times I got in trouble for coming home late when I was young simply because I was too busy having fun. An app like this would've made my life a lot easier," said David Colvin, founder of Distal Industries.

One of the most powerful features of CurfewAlert is its integration with the iPhone's location services. The app continually calculates the driving distance from the user's current location to their home address. And when the user travels to a new location, the app automatically recalculates the drive time and adjusts the alarm.

To extend iPhone battery life, CurfewAlert runs in the background allowing users to use other applications simultaneously. "The idea was to create a curfew app that you could set and forget when you went out. That way you can be free to have fun with your friends without having to worry about when its time to leave," explained Colvin.

In addition to setting a curfew alert, the app also lets users set a reminder up to 60 minutes before its time to go. "This gives users a little extra time to say goodbye to friends, walk to their car, etc.," explained Colvin. The app also lets users save an unlimited number of favorite home locations and view driving directions.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 3/4G iPod touch and iPad
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 0.2 MB

Pricing and Availability:
CurfewAlert 1.0 is only $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Utilities category. To learn more about CurfewAlert and view screen shots of the application, visit Distal Industries online.

iCarbs 3.0 - Universal App: Lookup + Record Carbs Based on USDA Database - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Indie developer James Hollender today announces iCarbs - iNutrients: Carbohydrates 3.0 for iOS, a major update to his Health & Fitness app that lists the carbohydrate content of more than 1,100 different foods. Broken down into seven Categories or as a complete, alphabetical list with search function, users can lookup and record their daily intake of carbs. Each listing includes nine pertinent facts about the food, and this 3.0 update allows users to create custom serving sizes for any item.

Revere, Massachusetts - Indie developer James Hollender today is pleased to announce iCarbs - iNutrients: Carbohydrates 3.0 for iOS, a major update to his Health & Fitness app that lists the carbohydrate content of more than 1,100 different foods. Broken down into seven Categories or as a complete, alphabetical list with search function, users can lookup and record their daily intake of carbs. Each listing includes nine pertinent facts about the food, and this 3.0 update allows users to create custom serving sizes for any item. The app is invaluable for dieters, diabetics, bodybuilders, and those with a need to monitor their intake of carbohydrates.

The app offers three different kinds of lookup: Search, Alphabetical, or Category. Users can enter any search term to query the database's 1,100+ entries (some entries have multiple names). Alphabetical searches of the complete list is simplified through a thumb index, which opens any letter of the alphabet immediately. Finally, users can search alphabetically through any of seven category listings: Fast Foods; Fruits & Vegetables; Meat, Fish & Shellfish; Dairy & Eggs; Cereal Grains & Pasta; Sweets; and Snacks. The database is truly encyclopedic. For example, looking up "Milk" brings up more than 35 different listings.

Feature Highlights:
* Lookup, customize, and record daily carbohydrate intake
* Comprehensive database of foods based on the USDA National Nutrient Database
* Lookup by Search, Category, or Alphabetical
* More than 1,100 foods listed
* Includes listings for Fast Foods

Having located the item sought, touching the listing opens a full page, including a photo of the food (some items), plus nine different entries. For example, touching the listing "Reduced Fat Milk," brings up a photo and the following nine entries: Full Name: Reduced Fat Milk, 2% Milk Fat; Weight: 244 grams; Common Measure: 1 cup; Carbohydrate Content: 11.71 grams (moderate-Code Yellow); Calories: 122; Description: Milk, reduced fat, fluid, 2% milkfat, with added vitamin A and vitamin D; Food Group: Dairy and Egg Products; and USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference: NDB ID: 01079.

Color-Coded Entries (Cooler the color, the lower the amount of Carbohydrates):
* Black = Rated Extremely High in Carbohydrates (45.01 - 166.46 g)
* Dark Red = Rated Very High in Carbs (30.01 - 45.00 g)
* Red = Rated High in Carbs (15.01 - 30.0 g)
* Orange = Rated Moderately High in Carbs (12.01 - 15.00 g)
* Yellow = Rated Moderate in Carbs (9.01 - 12.00 g)
* Yellow-Green = Rated Moderately Low in Carbs (6.01 - 9.00 g)
* Green = Rated Low in Carbs (3.01 - 6.00 g)
* Cyan = Rated Very Low in Carbs (0.01 - 3.00 g)
* White = Rated Extremely Low in Carbs (0.00 g)

Touching the Record button on the top right to add an item to the user's daily food intake, the carb-watcher can specify a serving size between .1 and 9.9 times the standard serving of 244 grams. New in version 3.0 of iCarbs is the ability to create custom serving sizes between 1 and 500 grams in 0.1 gram increments. Users can easily dial in the exact serving size using a slider and buttons for extra fine control of their selection. With the serving size adjusted, users just touch the Record button in the top right to have the revised entry added to their daily intake.

Records of servings are kept for a full year before being automatically deleted from the database. Recorded servings can be edited to change the date or number of servings. They can also be deleted if necessary.

In addition to helping users limit their daily carbohydrate consumption, the app includes five comprehensive articles to help the user get the most from the app: What Are Carbohydrates?, Carbohydrates & Diabetes, How to Use This App, Highest Protein Foods, and About this App. iCarbs - iNutrients: Carbohydrates is the second in a series of eight iNutrient apps, all based on the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference.

The other seven apps are:
* iCals - iNutrients: Calories
* iCholesterol - iNutrients: Dietary Cholesterol
* iFiber - iNutrients: Fiber
* iProteins - iNutrients: Proteins
* iSatFat - iNutrients: Saturated Fat
* iSugars - iNutrients: Sugars
* Vitamin K - iNutrients: Vitamins K1, K1D and K2

At opposite ends of the spectrum, for bodybuilders, those looking to put on some serious muscle mass, iCarbs can help them revamp their diet to see the best results; for diabetics, needing to monitor blood glucose and insulin, iCarbs will help restrict their carbohydrate intake, which will lead to a long and healthy life.

"Now a Universal App, iCarbs - iNutrients: Carbohydrates 3.0 is the most comprehensive, authoritative, and convenient iOS app available for keeping a record of daily carbohydrate consumption," stated Indie developer James Hollender. "And now users can create serving sizes for any of the 1,100+ listings to suit their needs."

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* Requires iOS 4.2 or later (iOS 5 tested)
* Universal app optimized for display on all iOS devices
* 6.5 MB

Pricing and Availability:
iCarbs - iNutrients: Carbohydrates 3.0 is $1.99 (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Health & Fitness category.

Combining a SmartPhone with a DSLR Camera

Posted by: "prMac Mailer" prservices@prmac.com

Combining a SmartPhone with a DSLR Camera - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With the AppStore for iPhones, the Android market for Android devices and the marketplace for Windows-Phones, SmartPhone users have access to thousands of apps. There are a number of apps dedicated to help photographers. Unfortunetely, people tend to use them only once as it is not pratical to hold a DSLR and a SmartPhone at the same time. Flash-Dock solves that issue by bringing the touch screen of the SmartPhone right next to the DSLR setting screen and buttons. Endless possibilities open up.

Paris, France - pocketDEMO is proud to release the Flash-Dock, a simple idea that will change the way photographers use their DSLR. Flash-Dock is a dock for iPhone or any other SmartPhones that is positioned in the flash-socket of DSLR cameras also called the "hotshoe" adapter ... and it changes everything!

Bruno Rousseau, founder of pocketDEMO says, "We first introduced the Flash-Dock at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in January 2012. The response from visitors has far exceeded our initial expectations. Following this response, we have decided to launch the product worldwide."

Sharing pictures: Imagine a DSLR with a 3G/4G connection:
Bruno Rousseau says: "What if we could share a High Quality picture by E-mail, SMS or via cloud services like iCloud or DropBox? That is something users have done for years with their camera phone but never did with their DSLR. How does the Flash-Dock help doing that? Well, have you heard about the EyeFi SD Cards? EyeFi cards are SD Cards that store pictures and send them to the SmartPhone through their built-in WIFI chip. Again, it is possible to use EyeFi cards without the Flash-Dock, but it is not that easy. The SmartPhone being next to the DSLR, everything works seemlessly and without the user paying any special attention to it. Once the photo-shoot is finished, the photographer only has to share his photos with the world through the 3G/4G networks... they are all on his SmartPhone."

Geotagging with .GPX files: SmartPhones have a built-in GPS and most DSLR don't. SmartPhones can record tracks into a file called a "GPX file". That file is then read by iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Photoshop Elements, Picasa and most photo library software's. What these softwares do is, merge this GPS data with the metadata of pictures taken during the photo-shoot. It is simple and free.

Geotagging with bluetooth: Some add-on devices like the BlueSLR are plugged into the DSLR GPS connector. Since SmartPhones also have a Bluetooth connection, they can send in real-time location information to the camera that in turn will geotag pictures. It works the same way as if there was a GPS receiver plugged into the DSLR, only cheaper.

LightMeter: SmartPhones have cameras and light sensors. Both combined, some smart developers have managed to create Light Meters that perform very well. They do require a calibration with a real light meter, but passed this stage, all the fotographer needs is a SmartPhone.

Depth Of Field calculator: These apps let the DSLR user calculate precisely the sharp area before and after the subject. These calculators take into account the lens type, the camera model and aperture to give a very precise value.

Level: Photographers have used levels for years on their tripods and now some DSLR feature an electronic horizontal line. However, some cameras do not have this feature and people can now monitor a level even without a tripod. Typical accelerometers inside the SmartPhones have an accuracy of 0.1, more than enough for a level functionality.

Microphone: The latest DSLRs all have video functionalities. However, the sound is often not in par with the video quality. SmartPhones on the other hand are made to deliver good sound quality with ambient noise cancellation and remote recording. Another good example of combining DSLR and SmartPhones.

Vibrations monitoring: What sort of vibrations does the shutter bring on a DSLR? With Seismometers apps, photographers can visually see and record the vibrations brought by their set up and correct it until pictures are taken completely still.

Design:
Although Flash-Dock seems like a simple idea, it took pocketDEMO one complete year and several prototypes to get it right. "You don't want your expensive SmartPhone to fall off the Flash-Dock while you walk" explains Bruno Rousseau. "We have designed it so it holds the SmartPhone very firmly but without requiring a strong force to put it in or remove it. Once you've used the Flash-Dock, you'll trust it the same way as you trust your hands to hold your phone".

Pricing and Availability:
Flash-Dock is available immediately through online purchase for $39.99 (USD) or 34.95 Euro. For more information, contact Bruno Rousseau or visit pocketDEMO online.

Honolulu, Hawaii - Studio Loupe is pleased to announce Fusion Calculator for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Fusion Calculator serves as a magical and innovative calculator. You can put aside the numbers you calculated anywhere on the screen, simply by dragging and dropping. It's like the memory functions on calculator, but much simpler and easier to use. No more memorizing and taking notes to remember the numbers you calculated to use again later.

You can bring those numbers back again to add, subtract, multiply, or divide by another number you calculated, so it is very helpful when combining several numbers of different calculations. Conversely, you can simply erase any numbers you don't need anymore, by dragging them to the trashcan.

Additionally, when you want to add-up all the numbers you have on the screen in one-touch, simply push the green button next to the trashcan. This function is very useful when you just want to enter all the numbers first, double-check to see that all numbers are correct, then add everything in the end. You'll never have to worry again about mistyping numbers. If you want a simple and useful calculator, this may be the one and only calculator you'll ever need!

Roman Backgammon - Go Back In Time - New App by eoz games - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

eoz games today introduces Roman Backgammon 1.0, its new gaming title for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Now on sale, Roman Backgammon is a simpler, ancient version of backgammon that is fun for adults and an excellent way to introduce children to the game. Roman Backgammon unearths the roots of the classic Backgammon game to deliver a unique experience with slightly different rules and a custom mosaic game board and dice design to take you back in time.

New York, New York - eoz games is pleased to announce Roman Backgammon 1.0, its new gaming title for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch at a two week introductory price of $2.99. Roman Backgammon is a simpler, ancient version of backgammon that is fun for adults and an excellent way to introduce children to the game. Roman Backgammon unearths the roots of the classic Backgammon game to deliver a unique experience with slightly different rules and a custom mosaic game board and dice design to take you back in time.

The game can be played in standard one or two player modes, or a player can select an opponent from anywhere in the world using Game Center. Three levels of difficulty ensure a broad range of play and iTunes integration even lets users select music from their own library. In Roman Backgammon, all stones begin off the board. Both players move on and off the board in the same direction. The board does not have the triangular points used in modern backgammon.

Roman Backgammon features a stunning ancient mosaic board with coordinated ebony and ivory dice and stones. Users can play against the computer (choose from three levels of play), 'pass and play' using their iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, or compete through Game Center, all while using iTunes integration to listen to their favorite music or playlist without exciting the game. Other features include a highlight option to show possible moves, two user friendly move options, automatic save and pause, an undo move function and an elegant dice roll.

Backgammon is the oldest known board game and is believed to have originated in Mesopotamia in the Persian Empire thousands of year ago. Egyptians, Sumerians, Romans and Persians may have played an ancient form of backgammon on wood or stone surfaces with dice made of bones, stones, wood or pottery. The Romans spread the game across Europe and this period was particularly important in the development of the game. Roman Backgammon is an ancient version of the game we know so well - now it can be played as the Romans did in the first century.

Device requirements:
* iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
* Requires iOS 4.0 or later

EditShare Storage Goes Into Overdrive With Support for Adobe CS6

EditShare Storage Goes Into Overdrive With Support for Adobe CS6 - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boston based EditShare today unveiled new EditShare Shared Storage capabilities and systems at NAB 2012 in booth SL9012. EditShare networked storage solutions now support project sharing for the brand new Adobe CS6 Premiere Pro. Thanks to EditShare's patented bin-locking / project-locking framework, Adobe Premiere editors can instantly see, copy or revise the work of colleagues with the assurance that a bin, sequence or project will never get accidentally deleted or overwritten.

Boston, Massachusetts - EditShare(R), the technology leader in shared media storage and end-to-end tapeless workflow solutions, today unveiled new EditShare Shared Storage capabilities and systems at NAB 2012 (booth SL9012). "Just about every aspect of our storage has been enhanced," says Andy Liebman, founder and CEO, EditShare, "from a new small form factor Atom(TM) storage system to project sharing with Adobe CS6, new cost-effective enterprise solid state drives (SSDs) that offer astronomical stream counts and 10 Gigabit connectivity options that promise to make 10 Gigabit Ethernet as ubiquitous as Wi-Fi."

Avid and Apple...Now Adobe CS6 Project Sharing:
EditShare networked storage solutions now support project sharing for the brand new Adobe CS6 Premiere Pro. Thanks to EditShare's patented bin-locking / project-locking framework, Adobe Premiere editors can instantly see, copy or revise the work of colleagues with the assurance that a bin, sequence or project will never get accidentally deleted or overwritten. Like the previous version of Premiere, the new Adobe release is compatible with all advanced features of Flow, EditShare's media asset management system, including drag and drop of clips and sequences from Flow into Premiere. The combination of Premiere CS6, Flow and EditShare storage creates a powerful toolset for collaborative workgroup production and editing.

Choose the right drives for the job:
In addition to its traditional lineup of 7200 RPM enterprise SATA and 15K SAS drives, EditShare is now shipping systems based on the first cost-effective enterprise Solid State Drives (SSD). "We take advantage of new technologies like SSD drives to ensure that EditShare storage platforms are always fully optimized for all media workflows and all data handling requirements. These are the fastest hard drives ever made," comments Liebman. For customers who require support for extreme stream counts, EditShare offers 480 GB SSD drives which, on a single set of 16 drives, can support 80 or more streams of ProRes HQ or Avid DnxHD 220, and hundreds of streams of lower bitrate video.

EditShare Shared Storage solutions let users mix all different drive types into a single system, assigning storage space according to the demands of the job. "We have made it so our customers can maximize on performance and price. If a job needs 50 editors all working on 220 Mbit video, you can put that on the SSD or 15K SAS drives, and for a job that is less demanding and that needs a lot of space, you can put that on more economical 7200 RPM drives. EditShare gives the best of both worlds with regards to price and performance," says Liebman.

New Storage Connectivity:
EditShare Shared Storage systems now support two new 10 Gigabit options - 10GBase-T, which runs on standard Cat 6 and Cat 6A cables, and Thunderbolt, connecting newer Mac Minis, MacBook Pros and iMacs. In addition to the new 10 Gigabit options, EditShare enables multiple 10 Gigabit bonding. Liebman says of the new EditShare bonding abilities, "With the data rates going in and out of individual systems reaching 2 or 3 GB/sec or more, to get all that data between workstations and central storage, we now provide an easy way to bond multiple 10 Gigabit interfaces together into a single virtual device. So, effectively we can get 40 Gigabit Ethernet or even higher between a server and a switch."

EditShare Atom - Shared Storage on the Go:
At NAB 2012, EditShare introduced the ultra-portable, second-generation mobile-shared storage solution, EditShare Atom(TM). "Five years ago, we introduced EditShare Field, the world's first portable shared storage system, and it was incredibly popular," comments Liebman. "Customers used the Field for capturing and editing high-profile sports and news events such as Wimbledon, World Cup soccer, Tour de France bike racing, and even the Chilean mine disaster from a couple of years ago. Now, the new Atom(TM) represents a fully re-designed turnkey system that is 40 percent smaller, lighter and modular." EditShare Atom ships standard with 4 x 3.5-inch drives. Users can securely dock to the top a 4-drive expansion unit or an LTO tape unit for backup. With Flow and Ark software included, Atom is the perfect solution for small news bureaus, on-location sports and film production, and even as a main storage system for small production companies. EditShare Atom is expected to ship in Q3, 2012.

Attendees at NAB 2012 can see the new EditShare Shared Storage capabilities along with other popular EditShare solutions at the EditShare booth SL9012.

Objective-Cologne: Early bird pricing only until the End of April

Objective-Cologne: Early bird pricing only until the End of April - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The International Cocoa Conference in Cologne Germany is offering discounted tickets for two more weeks, until the end of April. Bringing together noted speakers and attendees from around the world, the event will happen in Cologne's lovely "Old Auction House". Holders of one of the only 100 Tickets sold will also benefit from 2 Panel Discussions, a Conference Dinner, and a special attendee gift. A universal iPhone iPad app with the schedule and speakers will soon be available on the App Store.

Kerpen, Germany - Manuel "StuFF mc" Carrasco Molina, owner of Pomcast.biz is organizing a Cocoa/Objective-C Conference on September 11th & 12th, in beautiful Cologne, Germany. "StuFF mc" is also know for its Pomcast podcast which interviewed among others Steve Wozniak, Aaron Hillegass and many Cocoa Developers. Over the years, many of those developers became closed friends to him and don't look any further, those friends are the speakers of the conference.

It's very important to note that even though it happens in Germany, the whole conference will happen in English. Each Session, Panel, Information will be given in English, and the whole "Team" will obviously attend you in English.

Names likes Mike Lee, Jason Harris, Ortwin Gentz, Drew MacCornack or the Aspeslagh Brothers might sound familiar to some of you. Mike has worked at Delicious Monsters, before starting a company called Tapulous, then working for the Mother Ship (Apple Inc) and now being the "Mayor of Appsterdam" in The Netherlands.

Jason Harris, once invited to the amazing "Evening at Adler" (in 2005) is known for his past work for Unsanity - softwares likes Shape Shifter or Mighty Mouse - but as well for his Open Source "Chicken Of The VNC", which was the only VNC Client on the Mac for a long time.

Ortwin Gentz is the lead developer of Future Tap GmbH, the company who bought from Tap Tap Tap the award-winning iPhone app "Where To?". Ortwin's app is seen from many as one of the most amazing on the platform and StuFF mc considers it a privilege to being part of the Future Tap team, since he worked on the Rails backend of Where To? 4.0.

Drew MacCornack is, just like Mike, known (among others) for being a regular Speaker at NSConference since 4 years. StuFF mc has attended enough (4) NSConference to be sure Drew's talk will be awesome. Drew is always both entertaining and technical. He won't be the only Australian in the room though, as at least one attendee will flight all the way from New South Wales, Australia.

Ken & Glen Aspeslagh are the twins behind "Ecamm", a company producing many useful tools like Call Recorder For Skype, Printopia, PhoneView, but also selling some amazing hardware like the BT-1, a Bluetooth Webcam. Ken and Glen will hold each a talk about Debugging and Polishing. Many other speakers will show us either the latest technology or let us discover tips & tricks or things we should all know about when dealing with iOS or Mac OS.

Objective-Cologne: Schedule:

Day 1
09:00 - Welcome & Registration
10:00 - Keynote: Mike Lee "WWSJD: What Would Steve Jobs Do?"
10:45 - Break
11:00 - Ortwin Gentz "iOS 5 UIAppearance - possibilities and beyond"
11:45 - Break
12:00 - Ken Aspeslagh "Debug Like a Rockstar Ninja Jedi Master"
12:45 - Lunch
13:45 - Alexander Repty "User Interface Testing Using UIAutomation"
14:30 - Break
14:45 - Wordcrafts "Localization: You should have seen me earlier, the Doctor said."
15:30 - Break
16:00 - Panel with the speakers of Day 1
17:00 - End of Day 1
19:00 - Conference Dinner

Day 2
10:00 - Drew McCormack "In Virtual Company: Going it Alone in Software"
10:45 - Break
11:00 - Nicolas Zinovieff "Video: Man, it's not THAT complicated!"
11:45 - Break
12:00 - Ken Aspeslagh "Debug Like a Rockstar Ninja Jedi Master"
12:45 - Lunch
13:45 - Jason Harris "Designing, Marketing and Distributing iOS Peripherals"
14:30 - Break
14:45 - Latenitesoft "Working for a big name"
15:30 - Break
16:00 - Panel with the speakers of Day 2
17:00 - End of Day 2

As you can see a pretty packed scheduled, with always at least 15 minutes break so the attendees can connect with each other. Each day a lunch will be served and on the first evening Attendees and Speakers will gather around a dinner (again, included in the Ticket price) allowing for more "relaxed" conversations. Each attendee will be welcomed with a Conference T-shirt. If you have any kind of question, do not hesitate to drop us a mail or contact over Twitter, Facebook, or directly via the "built-in" Chat on the Website.

For years, "StuFF mc" have had this in his mind: Organize his own Cocoa Developer Conference in Beautiful Cologne, in the middle of Europe. As awesome as many other conferences are, they always had that one thing being the problem. Either too far, not organized by a community guy, not in English, not enough international, or, so on.

So he finally made it. All the infos are on the website and tickets are available right now for 399 Euro + VAT, approximately $625.00 USD. This price doesn't include your flight or accommodation, but it does include lunch on both days, and even a dinner on the first day. Be aware that this is the "early bird" pricing, which will only last until April 30th, 2012, after which the price will be raised to 439 Euro + VAT.

After having done contracting in iOS Development since the launch of the iPhone SDK back in 2008, Pomcast.biz finally launched its first Indie Mac App called Disk Alarm. This app, which should be the start of a series of Mac and iOS Apps, will monitor your hard drive and alert you whenever it reached a predefined (by you) free space. Manuel "StuFF mc" Carrasco Molina is also an "Apple" podcaster and thus, community guy. This is the main reason for willing to organize his own conference. He believes in "focussed" conferences, and thus choose to concentrate on his preferred world, the one from Apple, as well as bring everyone in the same room, with a "one-session-for-all" Conference. EditShare Ark Designed to Protect and Serve - Published on 04/16/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EditShare showcases its latest release of Ark at NAB 2012; new capabilities include migration between different tiers of storage, deletion of individual clips from backups. The new release of Ark features an enhanced user interface that better displays important information about system status and performance. For the first time, Ark administrators can easily migrate media between different tiers of online, nearline "spinning disk" and offline tape storage.

Boston, Massachusetts - EditShare(R), the technology leader in shared media storage and end-to-end tapeless workflow solutions, is showcasing a new version of EditShare Ark, the company's highly scalable backup and archiving solution, at NAB 2012 on booth SL9012. The new release of Ark features an enhanced user interface that better displays important information about system status and performance. For the first time, Ark administrators can easily migrate media between different tiers of online, nearline "spinning disk" and offline tape storage.

The integration between Ark and Flow, EditShare's production asset management solution, has also been significantly expanded. Through the Flow interface, authorized users can now quickly and easily delete unneeded backups at the clip level and partially restore files from Ark disk to EditShare Media Spaces, changing wrappers and codecs in the process, if desired.

"EditShare Ark is more than just a destination to offload media. It is an integrated workflow component that not only safeguards media but also makes it more available when and where it's needed," comments Andy Liebman, founder and CEO, EditShare. "Capabilities like partial file restoration and media migration give EditShare customers the power to manage, move, or transcode their media without having to deal with the technical complexities of what's going on behind the scenes. This makes access to archives incredibly fast and simple."

Visitors to NAB 2012 can see EditShare solutions including the new EditShare Ark on stand SL9012.

About EditShare Ark:
Developed on the same rock-solid architecture as the shared storage solutions, EditShare Ark Disk and Tape offer advanced backup and archiving capabilities all managed from a single intuitive interface. Because Ark is directly integrated with EditShare tapeless workflow and collaborative storage products, archived content can be easily searched using EditShare Flow media asset management tools, retrieved, and quickly brought back onto the EditShare shared storage systems - XStream, Energy and the new Atom. Individual Ark systems can be scaled up to 600 terabytes, and multiple Ark systems can be deployed together to create truly enormous archives.

User Reviews:
* Perfect - Just the, to-do list, app I was looking for. My schedule was always so jumbled before I started using this great app, and the tape and priority is cool addition. Reminds me of sticky notes I would be using in real life. Definite download for anyone with a hectic schedule, and forgetful people

* Just right - They have come up with a very practical app here. Not too much not too little. I love the fact that I can voice record my todo list as I seem to remember things mostly when I'm driving but forget those things by the time I get to destination. Highly recommend it

* Reason I got a smart phone - Awesome I was waiting for something like this for a while! Exactly what I needed to remind me what to do. No more post it's for me

* Most todo list miss the point of simplicity. This app is easy to put tasks in quick. The recording option is good as well. It's like the app orchestrate but a more simple clean UI

* Excellent app for making quick notes (written & spoken) on the fly. It's made it to my home screen. I use it to collect notes & ideas, then decide what to to with them later - one for the diary, another for Evernote (also v. good) etc
