Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Verizon Wireless to
launch shared data plans this summer via BGR: The Three Biggest Letters
In Tech by Zach Epstein on 4/19/12
Verizon Wireless confirmed plans on Thursday to launch a new feature
this summer that will allow families to share a single data plan.
Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam has discussed the carrier's plans to launch
the new data feature in the past, and the executive stated that shared
data plans will become available by the end of this year. Now, during
the company's first-quarter earnings call on Thursday, McAdam clarified
that shared data plans will become available to Verizon Wireless
subscribers by the middle of the summer. McAdam did not share any
details regard pricing.

Keyboard strikes

My keys show a popup of the letters as I type them. This has never happened before, don't what I touched. I found nothing in settings to fix this. Also the typing speed is slow. This happened when I replied to an email.

All my iPhones have had what you call a pop up. Not sure what to say about "slow" typing speed.

iPhone have always done this. You do not have to wait for the letter bubble
to pop up. You can hold your finger on some letters to bring up other
options such as the A, E, I, O, and U. Also the .com key.

I have an iPhone 4s, this is a new to me occurrence, the letters show up in a cartoon like window, not like when you're typing in a password or regular message. This only happened with a reply to an email...haven't seen it before or since. When I write/type an email under usual circumstances, the letters appear in the sentence as I type, with the instance I'm referring to the balloon was above the text, large in size and made the letter strike delayed/slow. ..like typing in slow motion.

I too have a 4s, it does and always has done this, as did my iP4, my iP3G & my iPhone (1). In fact this was coverd as part of the event for the introduction of the original iPhone. If your iPhone 4s doesn't do it, it's very special.

What you're describing is not the same issue I have described. I know the "hidden" key strokes...what I was describing was when I replied to an email, as I was typing a balloon appeared above the letter slowing down the keystroke to a snails pace. I normally type 75 wpm, this issue slowed the keystroke down to half that if not more. I can tell by what you've all replied to is not the issue I ran into.

The enlarged letter appearing has been a part of the iPhone since the original.
But you can type as fast as you want and that will not slow it down.
Do you have some other software that is modifying the typing?
What model of iPhone do you have and what is the iOS?

I'm leaving on a cruise May 13th from Athens to Venice. Won't be using my phone for anything but games or emergency. I'm new to the iPhone and not much experience in downloading stuff. Would appreciate a few games to play on the plane and while sitting in airports. Thanks for all your helpful advice, Julie in beautiful, Victoria BC Canada.

I use contactsxl on the iPad. There is a contactsxl 1 and a 4 by the same company for the iPhone. I don't need the iPhone app because any changes I make on the iPad is synced to iTunes and then to the phone. Works great.
