iPad 2 vs new iPad

So I have the iPad 2. Daughter is getting an iPad for her birthday. She loves doing pictures and videos. Should I splurge and get her the new iPad or is there not really much difference?

The retina display alone is worth the $100 extra.

Recurrent Calendar dates changed

After I posted message no 51493 I had no responses, not surprisingly as I suspect there is no answer to the problem. It has led me to a revision of all recurrent Calendar entries on iPhone and on MS Outlook, with which I sync. I repeat - ALL entries have been viewed. It is obvious that some recurrent all-day entries have been shifted by a day over the course of time - typically birthday reminders. Not all of them but quite a few. As my previous post (51493) was after the change of clock by an hour had led to the iPhone shifting all-day entries by an hour (from 00.00 - 00.00 to 23.00 on the right day - 23.00 the next day) it seems likely that over time a shift in actual day has occured. Any comments please? Has anyone else experienced this sort of bizarre phenomenon? I cannot locate any setting that could explain it, but if I have something wrong please tell me. I have an awful lot of wrong entries, and one of my Calendars (a less important one) is completely adrift, and I have stopped syncing it with my iPhone.

In case I am not explaining clearly, when the clock went forward one hour, entries were changed from 00.00 on date x for 24 hours to 23.00 on date x for 24 hours i.e. the all-day entry now began late on the correct day, with 23 hours on the next day. I suspect that different entries have behaved differently depending on whether they were entered in Summer or Winter, and whether on the iPhone or in Outlook. Advice appreciated if anyone can get their head round it!

Try and download the ap "informant". It may not suffer from the infirmities you describe.

I had something similar happen before between Outlook and Google. I'm thinking it's an Outlook problem since I quit having the problem when I quit syncing Outlook (and have by and large quit using Outlook completely). I too went through the calendar changing or re-creating everything that seemed to be offset by an hour. That was a long tedious process. I am currently using Pocket Informant synced to Google on my 4S.

If I sync my contacts to a computer I get duplicates so I now only sync them to the iCloud. however I'd like to know how to arrange contacts in groups which was earlier possible only through the computer.

I'm leaving on a cruise May 13th from Athens to Venice. Won't be using my phone for anything but games or emergency. I'm new to the iPhone and not much experience in downloading stuff. Would appreciate a few games to play on the plane and while sitting in airports. Thanks for all your helpful advice, Julie in beautiful, Victoria BC Canada.
