Re: SSD and back to SL

Please don't think me a pain for suggesting this, but SL might not have drivers for the newer hardware in your 2011 iMac.

If it came with Lion, it may be that only Lion has the correct drivers. I had this very problem with an MBA.

I hope you can prove me wrong.

Options are nice, but they have to draw the line somewhere. I don't take issue with that because maintaining two separate UI options means potentially tons of extra work moving forward, while simply providing an on/off switch for particular functionality does not.

What I *do* object to is poorly thought-out UI changes. That's not been characteristic of Apple in the past, but as Daly has pointed out there are a number of recent UI changes that don't have much (or any) value beyond the initial "Ooh…aah…wow!" factor for newcomers to the Mac. That's what's really disheartening, and frustrating, for me.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Let me ask though, where does it say 'Forget this network'?
I saw that tip on some of my searching on the subject, but didn't see anywhere it was an option.
Let me know.

Thanks!
Jeff

Then on your main computer, unplug your router for a couple of minutes and then turn it back on. Then boot up the iPad and connect to your network (by re-typing it all back in again) and see if this helps.

Go to settings, then wi-fi. Click on the '>' to the far right of the network you're connected to. This opens a detail page about the network. At the top of the page is the 'forget this network' option. After clicking on this option, go back to the wi-fi page and reselect the network.

If you're using Apple Mail, check the bottom of the Mail Window sidebar and look for an up-pointing arrow in a little box. Click on it and a Mail Activity area is revealed. Incoming mail is shown in this area.
