Has anyone upgraded their iPhone 3GS to iOS 6 or 6.0.1, yet? How did it go? Any issues.
I'm just a little concerned as the 3GS is getting a little long in the tooth and probably getting close to the end of its life. I am keeping it as a back up phone and my iPhone 4S is my primary phone.

Thanks for the feedback, Jim.
Any sluggishness? On another list, I got that comment, but let's just say I take the persons comments with a bit of salt.
Thanks, again.

Jim,
I just did the upgrade to which took me directly to 6.0.1, but I have one glitch. I no longer have the App Store icon, and even in Settings > iTunes & App Stores, I don't have it.
Would you please check your iPhone 3GS to see if you have that?
TIA

App Store icon is in the same place it was before. Right now I've got a badge with #1 on it, telling me I have an app update waiting.
I did do the 6.0.1 update earlier today.
Try a reboot.

Thanks it must be something with my set up. Guess it is time to set up an appointment with the Genius Bar. I have tried everything short of a Reset.

I've downloaded a number ao APPs from the app store via itunes. I no longer use or want these applications. I know how to remove them from my Iphone and Ipad...but I keep getting notices of updates to them in itunes even though I no longer want them. How do I remove them from my Apps in Itunes?

You have to delete them both on the device and the computer that you sync to. First back up any doc or stuff from the App, if you want it as this will delete the docs also.
To delete them on the iDevice, press and hold the icon until it starts to wiggle. Then click the X. Click the Home button to finish.
On your computer, open iTunes, and go to Apps. Either Cmd/Click or two-finger tap on the App you want to delete and select Delete. You should get a dialog to either keep the files from the App or to delete them.

A friend asked me to network her old HP LaserJet 2300n to her wireless network. It was a simple thing to connect the printer to the AirPort Extreme using an Ethernet cable.
I added the printer to the printer list, but I get a "can't communicate" error when I try to print.
I printed out a parameter page from the printer (using the pushbutton controls and LCD display). It shows that the printer has IP address of 192.168.0.90 .
When I ping that address using Terminal on a wireless-networked iMac running OS X 10.5.8 I get a time-out error.
It occurs to me that 192.168.0.90 might be outside the AirPort's range of DHCP addresses.
(This is taking place while friends are wracking their brains trying to remember their oh-so-difficult-to-hack password ;-) )
I could change the printer's IP to something more probably: the iMac's is 192.168.1.6, so maybe .9?
It would be nice to be able to do this without having to reset the AirPort (I don't know what configurations the previous person to work on it used, and don't want to have to deal with that if I can help it).
Ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

I've been out of town for weeks and haven't been able to read messages, so I apologize if this has been discussed. I didn't see a thread after a quick search.
Since updating ML from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2, I have noticed screen saver and display sleep functions no longer work on my MacPro. Apparently, others have this same problem to based on a Google search. Apparently, it started with 10.8.2. I haven't found any solutions yet. Display Sleep in Sys Prefs > Energy Saver don't work (that's what I used previously), and neither does Screensaver.
I don't want to have to manually turn off my monitors to prevent burn-in. Does anybody have a solution or workaround for this?
Thx,
Lou
