Users helping users. You won't get responses if no one thinks they can help. We're not geniuses. Just users like you.

I must agree with others that you have multiple problems that run quite deep. You need to do a clean install of Mountain Lion and start over, aka "nuke and pave." It is extremely unlikely that you can get your current config working properly. You most likely have several apps and extensions that are not compatible with Lion or Mountain Lion, and other problems. It is very difficult to "reverse" such problems out. The easiest way to find them is to start over and reinstall apps one by one, checking for compatibility for each app first.

Before you do this run the full Apple Hardware test. You need to eliminate the possibility of a hardware problem before proceeding. Press and hold "D" after you press boot but before the grey screen appears. Run the full, long version of the test. It will likely take overnight.

I would also advise upgrading your RAM if you can. Replace it if the hardware test shows any errors.

Cheers,

I posted this problem a couple of weeks ago on this group and got no suggestions on that one. This is really annoying to say the least. So far, knock on wood, iTunes hasn't yet frozen....crap....two quick ones there. This means no audio disc burning...bad bad bad

A click of any kind surrounds the icon with a darker grey box and they will flash the menu ever so quickly, but not usable in any way, shape or form. This started in 10.7.4 and I thought it was an OS X issue, but apparently it isn't. Is this a battery issue or a settings issue??

I've been away for a week, and during that time, on my iPhone, I saw a post here that indicated that Lion could be downloaded by owners of Lion. I really would like to be able to make a Lion disk which is bootable and contains an installer, but I apparently trashed that post on the iPhone and now that I'm back at my Mac I can't find it. Can anyone point me to it or, better yet, point me to the site?

My iMac came with 10.7.4 installed, and I see that a combo update to that version is available, but I don't know if that will do what I want.

Thanks,
..............Mike

Howdy.

Access the App store.

Log in to your account using your account name and password.

You will see the Lion downloader file and can download it again. It
should go to the Applications folder if you have already installed
Lion.

Use the disk image file contained in the download to burn a Lion
boot/install/troubleshoot DVD with Disk Utility.

Doesn't work, if I understood your directions right Dan. I assume you meant for me to access the App Store through iTunes, then go to 'view your account' and enter the password. I didn't see a Lion download file, and when I checked my 'Purchase History' Lion didn't show up as something I've downloaded, since it came (v10.7.4) already installed on my iMac, so I can't download it again. I would bet that the 10.7.4 combo updater won't include the disk image file, but I'm downloading it as I type this.

Did I misunderstand what you suggested?

Thanks,

The App Store in iTunes is only for iOS devices. You need to start the
stand alone 'App Store' application (via the Apple icon in the upper
left corner, for instance).

That said, I doubt you will find it available there either, as your mac
came with 10.7 pre-installed, so you didn't originally purchase it from
the App Store. Not sure what to suggest...

Howdy.

Do not use iTunes.

Use the App Store icon on your Dock. It is a round blue icon with a
stylized letter "A" in it.

If it has been removed from your Dock, find App Store.app program in
your Applications folder.

Now you can throttle the ocean down to a creek for $29 instead of using a FW 800 to USB 3 adapter - somebody must be making those right?

Howdy.

I've owned CDFinder for years and use it to catalog and index a lot of
CDs, DVDs, and now BluRay data discs.

I've just upgraded to the new version which has had a name change. Now
called NeoFinder.

I'm having very serious problems with it and am swapping a number of
messages with the programmer/owner in Germany.

I've always found the older CDFinder to be extremely reliable and easy
to use.

NeoFinder is not working well at all.

Some discs that I cataloged as a test couldn't be moved into a folder
and then later, after relaunching the program just disappeared.

The Find/Search function in NeoFinder has become extremely difficult to
use, very hard to understand, and extremely inconvenient and time
consuming to deal with.

In fact NeoFinder is so bad that I can't use it for searching and am
continuing to use the older CDFinder. It's like two steps backward and
no steps forward.
