Depends upon the orientation, landscape or portrait.
I usually use this when browsing with Safari, and then, it depends upon the site!

I was using the PC not my Mac. Just had gotten so accosted to using the CMD/Win key that I would momentary use that key instead of the CTRL key, which is the one house on a PC.

You still can, pull up the user manual at Apple support, but you said "one-stop" and I took that to mean one place with all models at once.

old software

I have some very old software that I don't use and neither would anyone have use for it, I'd guess. Things like old Freehand, old PageMaker, FrontPage and some other stuff. Should I just throw it away? What does a person do with these things?
Also, I have some old clip art disks that I haven't looked at in ages. Can they be used on Lion? Does the system make any difference?

The old applications you should either find replacements for, or just delete them. They will not work in Lioni.
The clip art? You should be able to see them. Try clicking on one and then pressing the space bar on our keyboard. Does it pop up?

My guess is the clip art should work OK. It's probably a TIFF or a JPG.

Lots of folks in impoverished communities, the third world, etc.,
could use your old computer and old software. Contact one of these

Some people collect antique Macs and software. You might put it on eBay, or go here:

I hope this goes through - have spent the last three days trying to set my Yahoo password. Reset completes normally and logs me in. Then the next day the new password doesn't work. This is what I started with ten minutes ago for image sizes
/Don 120x120
/Don/Pictures 148x148

I change the image size in /Don and set it to default, and get

/Don/Pictures 148x148 - - NO CHANGE
/Don/Pictures/JPGs 124x124 - - NO CHANGE

The images did not come through, but I think I know what you are trying to show me and I believe you. All I am trying to say is that it works on my Mac. Something else on your Mac is causing your problem.
I was not asking what third party apps you are using, I was speculating you are using something to modify the way the stock OS works, something to tweak it. We all use third party apps, but not all of us use software to tweak the OS.

Apple Releases Java Update
Posted by: "Robert" cookrd1@discoveryowners.com cookrd1
Tue Apr 3, 2012 7:06 pm (PDT)
For Lion and Snow Leopard. Although Apple has not specifically identified that this will fix the major vulnerability recently discussed by CNET and others, hopefully this fixes it. Supposedly, even if you deny permission to install, it installs anyway??? If this is correct, I wonder what else will be developed to install without permission. And I thought that only happend with Windows.
Via Software Update or http://support.apple.com/ downloads/
Note - Java is not installed by default on Lion and SL. To check if it is installed, go to Applications/Utilities/ Java Preferences. app and double click it. If anything shows up in the General tab, then it is installed. To disable Java, just uncheck any boxes.

Brent,
The only reason I ask is that I don't want to have to dig the disc up unless it's worth it. You don't know my basement or attic!! :)
I am aware of the message and the icon representative of a PPC app under Lion.

Harry,
I really didn't take your "dig" as being a big chore. And a simple web search could have given you the answer. Apple hides old articles, but you can find them with a simple web search.

Note that the mini nor the MB Air support sharing a video DVD. All
other modern Macs, yes, but not those two:
"MacBook Air and Mac mini do not support playing DVD movies or audio
CD media with Remote Disc. ... To play DVD movies, audio CD media, or
copy-protected discs on the MacBook Air or Mac mini, use the MacBook

Good answer, but the question was about passing a hard drive from one video professional to another, not about security.
