This book traces the data flow all the way from the I/O controller on the logic board to the read and write heads actually exchanging data with the drive platters. We hope this book will become the de facto standard reference manual for hard drive and system problems on Mac OS X based systems."

The app features Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) powered by Nuance, which allows the device to recognize the words the user speaks, take them down, and translate them into another language. This whole process is done in a matter of seconds, offering the user reliable and instantaneous results.

Users simply drag a finger across the screen and speak the phrase they want translated. The app then translates the phrase or word using the user's choice of the Google or Microsoft translation engine, changeable in the settings menu. Immediately after speaking, the app provides a translation written on the device and it also speaks the translated phrase aloud, giving the proper pronunciation of the phrase. This automatic speech can be turned off in the settings menu, as well.

Players help charming panda Joy collect his lost candy along the forest floor path, while avoiding threatening spiders attempting to stop him. The first level teaches players how to control Joy's movement along the screen. Players simply tap in the direction they want him to travel and he follows their lead. Later levels include dangerous spiders that threaten panda Joy's safety. If he runs into one of these spiders, he disappears.
At each level, players have three lives. If they encounter a spider, they lose one of these lives, but will be able to restart in the original place with another life to collect the rest of the candy. A running total of the number of special candies collected and playing score is visible in the upper right hand corner of the screen at all times. The player may also view the number of lives remaining by the number of pandas in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
The level begins with Joy in the center of the screen, surrounded by a puzzling path. Small spiders lay asleep in their open cages scattered throughout the playing screen. As time passes and the player begins to direct Joy's movement, the spiders slowly awaken and begin to move through the screen, meaning the player has to work faster to collect all the candy before he or she is attacked by the enemy.
While the original arena is the bamboo forest, the sky, castle, invisible wall, and ghost island are additional arenas where Joy must search for his candy. The game features four different character modes for Joy as well, including Classic, Dragon Warrior, Ghost, and Invincible mode. Each character has different superpowers that help the player and Joy collect all the candy on the board.
Once all the candy is collected, the player has completed the level and may move on to the next. Each arena consists of a variety of levels that increase in complexity and difficulty, with more and more cunning enemy spiders for Joy to evade.

Padgram 2.2 augments the social experience of Instagram viewing on the iPad. The user is presented with a grid of photos in whichever group he or she searches, whether it be Followed, Subscriptions, Likes, or Popular photos. The grid uses the entirety of the iPad's large screen, allowing for clear and vivid shots of each picture sized reasonably. To view just one picture, the user simply taps on the desired photo. A screen will then slide over, showing the photo's description, comments, and likes.
Here, the user is able to comment with just one tap on the "Add Comments" space. Along with the keyboard, Padgram also offers easy symbol use, so the user does not have to switch keyboards to add a common "at" symbol, hashtag, emoticon, etc. While a custom hashtag symbol on its own is available, the app also offers suggestions for popular tags.
A click on one of these suggestions will add related tags in "Tag Packages" for easy categorization of photos. Tag Packages consist of popular grouped tags all in one. This allows users to immediately tag their photos with their favorite tags without having to copy and paste from another application.
The emoticon button provides the user with a full keyboard of over five hundred expressive faces, animals, other symbols, and more with just one tap. The keyboard also offers a recently used section, allowing users to easily locate again the symbols they last selected.
A simple swipe of the screen will take the user away from this view of a certain picture, and back to the full grid. Users can also view other Instagram members' profiles with just one touch. The window provided will show all of the user's photos, followers, and followings. Users can elevate their Instagram viewing experience by subscribing to tags on Padgram. This way, they can easily choose to group desired photos on the clear screen.
Padgram's Searched feature is especially advanced in its suggestion technology. The app retains the user's searches, so that a user returning for the same search does not have to retype. The search feature also offers intelligent suggestions for user names or tags as users type, so they may choose one with just one simple click.
Sharing photos is easy with Padgram; it allows users to save and send pictures to email as well as the popular social networking sites Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Pocket, and Sina Weibo. The user's favorite pictures can be easily printed and sent as postcards.

Padgram 2.2 augments the social experience of Instagram viewing on the iPad. The user is presented with a grid of photos in whichever group he or she searches, whether it be Followed, Subscriptions, Likes, or Popular photos. The grid uses the entirety of the iPad's large screen, allowing for clear and vivid shots of each picture sized reasonably. To view just one picture, the user simply taps on the desired photo. A screen will then slide over, showing the photo's description, comments, and likes.
Here, the user is able to comment with just one tap on the "Add Comments" space. Along with the keyboard, Padgram also offers easy symbol use, so the user does not have to switch keyboards to add a common "at" symbol, hashtag, emoticon, etc. While a custom hashtag symbol on its own is available, the app also offers suggestions for popular tags.
A click on one of these suggestions will add related tags in "Tag Packages" for easy categorization of photos. Tag Packages consist of popular grouped tags all in one. This allows users to immediately tag their photos with their favorite tags without having to copy and paste from another application.
The emoticon button provides the user with a full keyboard of over five hundred expressive faces, animals, other symbols, and more with just one tap. The keyboard also offers a recently used section, allowing users to easily locate again the symbols they last selected.
A simple swipe of the screen will take the user away from this view of a certain picture, and back to the full grid. Users can also view other Instagram members' profiles with just one touch. The window provided will show all of the user's photos, followers, and followings. Users can elevate their Instagram viewing experience by subscribing to tags on Padgram. This way, they can easily choose to group desired photos on the clear screen.
Padgram's Searched feature is especially advanced in its suggestion technology. The app retains the user's searches, so that a user returning for the same search does not have to retype. The search feature also offers intelligent suggestions for user names or tags as users type, so they may choose one with just one simple click.
Sharing photos is easy with Padgram; it allows users to save and send pictures to email as well as the popular social networking sites Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Pocket, and Sina Weibo. The user's favorite pictures can be easily printed and sent as postcards.

Pixel Knights Ltd. release their latest mobile & tablet game from their gaming studio based in Pwllheli, North Wales, UK. Following on from the success of their previous games, ZombieGP, Christmas Chaos and Halloween Havoc, this game concentrates on bringing family friendly puzzles to all ages.
Available in both English and Welsh (language can be changed within the app), it shows our commitment to bringing apps and games in our native language. There doesn't seem to be many opportunities for Welsh language gamers on the appstore or play store and our aim is to bring Welsh speakers great gaming in our native language.
We also wanted to bring an easy to play game to market, one which our own kids could easily pickup and play, but also one that would keep older gamers occupied and coming back for more. The 4+ age rating reflects our goal to ensure this game was accessible to everyone.
Carl Jones, director and lead developer at Pixel Knights said: "I started writing games on a Commodore64 at the young age of 10, mostly because I didn't have a tape player with it to load them :p And the magazines in those days were always full of great game listings to type in. Things progressed somewhat with the arrival of the Amiga, I used to spend days writing games on that platform using AMOS. Unfortunately once I graduated from University and got a 'real' job, game programming became a distant memory. But recently I've been really captivated by mobile gaming and so decided it was time to re-kindle my passion for game development"
Stackimals (Anipeiliaid) is the company's first tablet optimised game (again in Welsh & English), so expect great things to emerge from this new studio. It shows the company's growing commitment to bringing native language apps to Welsh speakers worldwide.
