We went hands-on with the beta, which included new apps and other improvements. Well this afternoon, Apple pushed the update to the public version of the iCloud web portal. So if you go to iCloud.com and login, you should see the new additions…(...) "iCloud website gets updated with new Notes and Reminders apps" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |
Posted: 13 Sep 2012 04:00 PM PDT I don’t know about you, but we are pretty pumped up about the iPhone 5 here at iDB. No doubt, everyone on the team will be getting one as soon as possible. We wish every one of our readers could get their hands on an iPhone 5 too, but we understand that for obvious reasons, that might not be possible. Don’t worry though, because your friends at iDB have got your back. With that in mind, we decided to give away an iPhone 5 to one lucky winner…(...) iPhone 5 won’t support concurrent voice and data on Verizon or Sprint Posted: 13 Sep 2012 03:55 PM PDT Remember back when Verizon first launched the iPhone 4? AT&T, whose network was struggling at the time, launched a campaign highlighting the fact that AT&T users could talk and browse the web at the same time, and Verizon users couldn’t. Over time, the problem faded into the background. And since Verizon’s LTE network — which is now in nearly 400 markets — supports simultaneous voice and data, we didn’t think it’d be a problem with the iPhone 5. But apparently, we were wrong…(...) Unfold 2.0 now available for free on Cydia Posted: 13 Sep 2012 03:33 PM PDT Lost amidst yesterday’s well warranted hype for the iPhone 5, was the release of Unfold 2.0 — a jailbreak tweak available on Cydia. Unfold 2.0 allows for an accordion unlock style, in either a horizontal or vertical direction. It can be had for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Watch the video, and let us know what you think. Apple wins preliminary sales ban against Motorola devices in Germany Posted: 13 Sep 2012 02:35 PM PDT Hot on the heels of their big victory against Samsung here in the United States, Apple’s legal team has just won another important decision against Motorola in Munich, German. The German court has just awarded the Cupertino company a preliminary sales ban against Motorola’s phones and tablets in the country, ruling that they infringe on Apple’s patents…(...) How the EarPods enable richer bass and crisper highs Posted: 13 Sep 2012 02:30 PM PDT Apple yesterday alongside the iPhone 5, new iPods and several other announcements also took the wraps off the EarPods, a new headset. Cupertino has finally refreshed its crappy in-ear headset with higher sound quality. Hopefully, the headphone is now shaped to prevent it from falling out of your ear. The company spent three years designing the new headset and tested a total of 124 different prototypes of the EarPods on over six hundred people. You may have noticed three little holes poked in the EarPods, here’s what these do to improve sound quality…(...) Poll: will you pre-order the iPhone 5 or stand in line? Posted: 13 Sep 2012 02:00 PM PDT Apple is taking iPhone 5 pre-orders starting 12:01am Pacific, 3am Eastern on September 14. That's tomorrow and less than 24 hours from now. In addition to the online Apple Store, carriers Sprint, AT&T and Verizon have confirmed they will be taking pre-orders for the phone at the same time. Several regional U.S. carriers also announced availability and retailer Walmart said it will be taking pre-orders at its U.S. stores starting at 8am, priced at $189.97 with a two-year AT&T, Verizon or Sprint contract. With plenty of options for those who are planning on upgrading, I’m wondering if you prefer pre-ordering or standing in line for this year’s iPhone…(...) Don’t want to wait in line for the iPhone 5? TaskRabbit will do it for you Posted: 13 Sep 2012 01:04 PM PDT If you don’t plan on pre-ordering your iPhone this weekend, but still want to grab the handset as soon as it launches, your only other option is to stand in line at an Apple, or other retail, store. Queues for new Apple products are banal, sometimes starting a week or more ahead of launches, with hundreds of people. But if waiting in line isn’t for you, these folks are up to the task…(...) The iPhone 5 promo hits YouTube Posted: 13 Sep 2012 12:21 PM PDT Apple’s promotional video detailing the biggest iPhone 5 features went live shortly following yesterday’s series of announcements, but you need QuickTime, Apple’s media software, to watch it in your browser. Many hate QuickTime, especially Windows PC users. The QuickTime for Windows installer is nearly a hundred megabyte download and the software has become infamous for its resource hoginess (is that even a word?). Luckily, two hours ago the company uploaded the clip to its YouTube channel and we’ve embedded it here for your viewing pleasure…(...)
