For sure it'll be a pain in the ass, just read some stuff about
iPhone/iPod docks that are built into cars that won't work either.

I have a dual-layered armored case for my iPod and no docks work with it.

Yeah, yeah.... I *know* that. And that was one reason why I didn't go for Android. (Although I'm still drooling over Asus' various Transformers as a replacement for my aging MacBook, but ...).

But I only switched to an iPod Touch about a year ago, after years with various Palms, which in turn was after years of various Psions, so it seems like it's too soon to get the "I've been here before" feeling. I still have a lot of Palm stuff hanging around and making me guilty.....

Unlike the Android-world, I think it's a pretty sure bet that Apple will
stick with this connector design for more than just a year or two…

iPod?

New connector.... bad news.
=========================================

But not unexpected. If they hadn't had a new connector for the new iGadgets
there would have been much complaining & gnashing of teeth about it. :-)

Remember all the complaints & disappointment last year when they didn't
*name* the new iPhone model the "5" -- more attention paid to the *name*
than the act properties of the device -- as if calling it the "5" would have
made it somehow "better"! They might have gotten better press with calling
it the "5" and leaving out some other enhancement. :-)

Not a good idea to go against all the rumours & expectations!
Gets you in trouble big time.
