From the new User Manual:

3D and Flyover
On iPhone 4S or later, use 3D (standard view) or Flyover (satellite or hybrid view) for three- dimensional views of many cities around the world. You can navigate in the usual ways, and zoom in to see buildings. You can also adjust the camera angle.
The Transamerica Pyramid Building is a registered service mark of Transamerica Corporation.
Use 3D or Flyover: Zoom in until or becomes active, then tap the button. Or, drag two fingers up. You can switch between 3D and Flyover by tapping the lower-right corner and changing views.
Adjust the camera angle: Drag two fingers up or down. Maps settings
Set options for Maps: Go to Settings > Maps. Settings include:
• Navigation voice volume (iPhone 4S or later)
• Miles or kilometers for distance
• Language and size of labels
&#655

Thanks!

Not sure if we have the capability with the iPod Touch, 4Th (latest till next month)

Will try though.

They've got one thing wrong. Flyover works on the iPhone 4 also.

Subject: [macsupport] Is iOS6 a good upgrade for iPad?

Hi. I see iOS6 is out for the iPad but I have not loaded it up yet.

Is it a good upgrade, stable, make life easier, etc? Does it have any big issues, bugs, surprises or new restrictions that we won't like? Thought I'd ask here before installing it.

Thanks,

Lou

Have it here on Touch. Worth it to me. I have heard that one may not want the upgrade on the 1st gen iPad.

Howdy.

The daily (Monday through Friday) Kojo Nnamdi Show -
talk/chat/interviews/discussions - on public radio's WAMU from American
University in Washington, D.C., frequently has interesting guests and
topics of interest to computer users.

Today's segment from noon to 1:00 pm - September 25, 2012 - is with a
guest named CmdrTaco, AKA Rob Malda, who founded and edited Slashdot
for a number of years.

Slashdot became a major internet place for news about technology, the
Internet, and current techie events.

Malda is now the "chief strategist" for The Washington Post's WaPo
Labs.

You can hear this via podcast via WAMU or via the iTunes store.
